Re: 'We Are Building A Stronger Xbox' - Asha Sharma Updates Employees On Progress In 2026

@Nexozi I was going to say the same thing. We are moving into a digital world where physical media is slowly dying. I cannot remember the figures but the digital sales vs physical were rather high for the last gaming year. And when publishers see that, they all probably think the same think.... why spend extra money on producing a physical item.

@Fiendish-Beaver I was watching Kinda Funny the other day and they had Parris on taking about the exclusivity issue on the back of how much consoles currently cost. (Steam Deck price increase was being discussed)
The example used was PS5 vs Series sales (90mil vs 30mil (rough guess)). If MS suddenly said "MS Studio games are now Exclusive to Xbox and PC", it would make the hard core fan base very happy BUT... now there are ~90mil who would need to buy a new system to play those games. I am not saying all would do it but even if it was <50%, it would still be a big ask. If the market was better and we saw the traditional price decrease of consoles though out the generation, it would be a different story.
A case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Re: The Outer Worlds Dev Alters Free Xbox & PS5 Upgrade Due To 'Platform Limitations'

ZeD

@Fiendish-Beaver when they mentioned this free upgrade, I was convinced I already owned the Spacers Choice. I checked the store page and it offered me to buy it again.
Flash forward to it being added to GP. It now says included in subscription or buy it. I press buy and it gives me an error message that I already own it.
I think there is something going on in the background that is not fully working yet.

Re: Xbox Racks Up 37 Million Views With A Single Post About GTA 6

ZeD

GTA is a strange one for me. In the past I have got caught up with all the hype, got it day one and then completed it very slowly or not at all.
For example, GTA5 came out on PS3. I got it day one, but did not complete it until late last year on my PS5.
Now onto GTA6.... I was very excited about it at first but now thanks to multiple delays (should have come out today btw) and just seeing everyone posting "where is the next trailer?" and "when can I pre order?", I just don't feel excited for it anymore.
I will get it eventually but probably not day 1.

Re: Destiny 2 Is Reaching End-Of-Life Status, And There's No Sign Of Destiny 3 Yet Either

ZeD

@Fishmasterflex96 Never said or meant they were dead. Just if this is the path they are one, (no Destiny 3, low numbers on Marathon, planned cuts), it is not looking good to the higher ups. And we have seen in the past Sony are not afraid to kill studios. I cannot see it happening here as Bungie are just too big. But.... it will be interesting to see where Bungie go from here.

Re: Destiny 2 Is Reaching End-Of-Life Status, And There's No Sign Of Destiny 3 Yet Either

@Markatron84 I only played a little bit of the first Destiny as it wasn't for me but from what I understand, wasn't Bungie their own biggest enemy for the franchise. I am sure I read they made some decisions that were questionable.

With how Marathon is performing, I can see this being the beginning of the end for Bungie. They were brought on board to PlayStation to help with Live Services; they killed the one every one was really hyped for and their own is not doing too great. I know there are players who love Marathon (and that is great) but from a numbers point of view, I cannot see Sony being too happy with it. It's a shame really.

Re: Five Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Late May 2026

ZeD

@NicolausCamp I use it as a "Digital Rental System". If it is a game that I know is 50+hrs long, I might give it a few hours to see if I like it. If so, it will go on my wish list. Some times though, the game hooks me in and I will finish it. That happened for Metaphor lol

Re: Digital Foundry Labels Sony's PS5 Exclusivity Pivot As A 'Defensive Move Against Project Helix'

ZeD

@Sol4ris the only reason they post Xbox articles over on the sister site is for clicks. The last article I saw from them before walking away was along the lines of "So, was Starfield actually trash?" What sort of click bate headline is that!?
Anyway, before this comment is removed, let's get back onto topic.
One factor I am surprised has not been talked about here is piracy. Sony's games on PC have little to none anti-piracy measures and I remember seeing on day 1 of each release posts over in certain sub-reddits stating they have been hacked. That would be thousands of lost sales on day 1. Any with those games being SP, there is no need for the player to even connect online. So, for me, this would also be a big reason too.

Also, I couldn't help myself but @Markatron84, you don't want to be angering the overlords! 😂
