Been coming back to this since it launched. At first I wasn't sure, the controls were janky and combat a bit basic, however I stuck with it and it's weirdly a very relaxing game (apart from the school mission). Just having a blast finding all the collectibles right now, still have a few chapters to go in the main story.
Based on this review, and that it's free on Game Pass, I'll likely give it 10 minutes on solo and then move on. Live service games do nothing for me and, even for those who love them, if this has basic flaws like poor AI, most people will move on very quickly. Add to that the performance issues and that it's clearly a rush job, this may well be dead on arrival.
There is no incentive to buy a game day one any more. Give it a year, the price will be over 50% cheaper and it will actually work. I only just finished Fallen Order and it was surprisingly good, but I'll wait a long while for this.
Has to be the best Games with Gold for a while. This game was great back in the day, I played it again via N64 not too long ago and it still holds up, and I've had this remaster in my wishlist for a while. Great news
@MaccaMUFC I did enjoy what I played, the characters were great and the city is so detailed and believable. It's just, as a CDPR game, half of it is played in the menus and I could not make out any text or detail. You can change the subtitle text but that's it, any menu or UI text is fixed and it's awful. If they patch it in the future - as it's been requested many times on the CDPR forums - then I'll definitely rebuy it as I was looking forward to it for a long time.
I bought Cyberpunk 2077, then got it refunded a few days later when I deemed it unplayable. The font size for almost all text in the game is unfathomably small, to the point where I found it unplayable regardless whether I played remotely on my phone or on my big 4k TV. Bought GTA V X/S edition instead just as a casual runaround.
Ezio Collection. The AC games - and by extension, most Ubi open world games - have been on a downward trend since then in my opinion. Should never have turned it into an almost yearly franchise and instead focus on quality, not quantity. Also Rayman Legends was beautiful.
This is a great review and pretty accurate. The only thing I'd mention is that the game steers you to a more relaxed way of playing compared to most action or horror games, which for me is a huge positive. It's more in line with Bioshock with it's faux-linear story, but in an open world setting that doesn't feel at all like a chore to explore unlike some games, like virtually every Assassin's Creed entry. Performance issues aside, I'm chuffed with it. I e picked up many Game Pass games for a few hours of gameplay here and there but this one should get a completion from me.
A laughable price for games that are almost always on sale for 50% off or more, not to mention a portion are already on Games Pass. £5 per month seems more acceptable.
@Sam_TSM Likely a dodgy SQL migration to some degree as a result of a deployment. Data shouldn't be lost for those affected as a company with the resources that Xbox have will have backups of backups of backups.
I will try out some of these settings soon. I'm enjoying the game, but so far it feels a little light in depth across the board. I'd argue we've been spoiled by Bioshock and so every story-driven FPS ever since just reminds us of "what could've been".
I don't play many new or current gen games at all but, of the few I've played, I stick it on 60fps or performance mode almost all the time, particularly action or FPS games. I had a crack at Ghostwire today and I enjoy it, but I'm also sure the performance mode is lying somewhat, as it seems to not be locked and hovers somewhere between 30fps and 60fps.
@NEStalgia Ironically, there's a fair argument to say that games today are way undervalued. In the UK at least, a SNES game in the mid 90s would typically cost between £40 and £50. Vividly remember paying £49.99 for Yoshi's Story on N64, 25 years ago. A brand new Xbox Series X/S game these days is, what, £60? I've never understood why we aren't seeing prices of £80+ for a base game, considering how many developers and resources are involved now.
Series S with 70% full here, but I install and delete games every day. I get 200mbs download any time of day here, and with internet like that, storage space is not important.

Re: Deals: All 15+ Backwards Compatible Games In This Week's Xbox Sales (May 2-9)
I wish it was possible to play 360 games via remote play as that's primarily how I play these days.

Honestly, probably Railway Empire 2. If the controls are decent at least.

Re: Ghostwire: Tokyo's Xbox Version Described As 'Big Disappointment' In Digital Foundry Tech Review
I enjoy the game but it does play/feel like a late 360/early XBONE title due to the performance alone. It's a shame, as it's a good game deep down.

Cyberpunk is back down to £25 for the thousandth time. Will have a deep dive later but it does seem to be the same prices as always.
