Microsoft sucks in a lot of ways now, so I pretty much expected them to do or say little to nothing.

The current management needs to be gone top to bottom.

Under current management, I don’t expect they’ll do anything. They seemingly want to get far away from their console past.

@themightyant this is exactly where I’m at. I have a PS5 Pro and Switch 2 now, I really don’t buy games on Xbox anymore. I still like many of the games from their multiple studios, but I’m not investing in a platform with an uncertain and constantly changing future. That rubs quite a few people the wrong way, but it’s just my personal view. I just don’t want to keep building a game library on a platform with so much uncertainty. Most anything I want to play from Xbox will be on PlayStation.

Doom: The Dark Ages for me. Expedition 33 is second.

GOOD arcade racers need to make a comeback.

Is anybody really shocked or surprised? It’s pretty clear there will be no Xbox exclusives going forward. Right or wrong it’s the decision they’ve made.

Finished Doom The Dark Ages 100%. Had a great time with it. Will probably play some Helldivers 2 with friends and may work on some Clair Obscur Expedition 33 as well.

I’m missing my time with Doom already though. Not sure why it’s getting so much negativity. It’s a really fun game anyone can enjoy with all the difficulty options and tuning.

@Fiendish-Beaver they (mostly) know it, but can’t admit it. Xbox will have one more console, and it probably won’t sell more than 15-20 million.

@TheGameThrifter it only makes sense for the business side of things. Xbox only gamers are overlooked and more and more 3rd party games are skipping the platform altogether. Only the staunchest of fans can defend it.
If that’s what Spencer and company want to do, it’s their show to run. There will come a time (soon) when even the super fans will lament these moves. Not for the revenue but for the (lack of) their own felt value in supporting Xbox.

@Millionski yes, and while I’ve owned every Xbox, the Series consoles will be my last. Just no need when everything is coming to the competition. Very few, myself included can play several games a month. So while GamePass is admittedly great, I’d rather focus on the 2-3 Xbox games a year I have time to play. If you’re a console gamer and don’t have time to play a new game every other day, PS will be the default high end console for most gamers. Unless Xbox comes up with something revolutionary for next gen, hardware will just keep declining at a rapid rate from here on out, at a precipitous rate. Just look at the current numbers. I have loved the brand from the beginning, but I think this will all hurt Xbox hardware irreparably.

Actually picked another one up recently. It’s still a shame to store is no longer open. Was and is a great console.

@TheGameThrifter the coping of some of these fans is hilarious. Console sales absolutely matter for the health of the brand and you’re correct, PS5 and Switch are selling (have sold) like gang busters. And the only people saying they don’t matter are Xbox fanboys and fangirls who have seen their favorite brand slide in to irrelevance under Spencer. Mattrick wounded Xbox deeply and Spencer slowly bled it out. Just terrible mismanagement yet Spencer is still worshiped by many of the diehards.

You guys really missed the mark on your Indiana Jones and the Great Circle review. I know it’s an opinion (from my side as well), but that game is definitely better than 6/10. You guys were among the lowest review scores, if not the next to lowest. Find a better reviewer that actually likes good video games.

You guys are often weirdly hyper critical of some good games, but you completely lost me with giving Indiana Jones a 6/10. While not perfect (no game is actually without a single flaw of course), it’s one of the best games released in 2024 and while perhaps not a perfect 10/10, it’s certainly not a 6/10. Death Stranding is not a better game than Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

@Coletrain Series console will likely not break 40 million. The folks that want/need one already bought them. And Xbox hasn’t exactly been giving many compelling reasons to buy one now. They seemingly gave up a couple years ago, by Phil’s own admission.

Typical for Xbox this generation.

I’ve enjoyed having a Series S. I also have a Series X, but I’ve played and enjoyed many games on the S. It gets a lot of hate from all sides, but it’s a good little console for many people. For a kid’s Christmas gift or for someone who doesn’t have the best TV, it’s a great way to get next gen features.

Well, they spent 4 years telling you not to buy them, and they treat console owners like 3rd class ecosystem citizens. What would anybody expect?

@OldGamer999 yep. This generation has gone much like the last, except Xbox is finally on its last legs as a brand instead of somewhat trying to regain a foothold.

Still a great console and one I still collect for and play. Modern Xbox has lost their way.

Phil makes a lot of bad choices and mistakes.

It’s not coming, just like the other Capcom and Konami games that have skipped Xbox. It’s just not worth their effort apparently.

I’m fortunate to have the other consoles so luckily I don’t have to miss it. Stuff like this stinks to Xbox only users.

Might be something to think about going forward.

At this point, I’d rather them just put the games on PS5 day and date so I can buy them there. Gamepass hasn’t had much of anything that interests me in over a year. Xbox just isn’t the value proposition it once was, to me at least. Maybe this is what they want.

I expect them to fail and not have very many quality releases, as always.

They need new management badly.

I’ve owned every Xbox console offered. This generation will be my last. All my 3rd party purchases will be on PlayStation as of this year.

Mixed/poor messaging, TERRIBLE leadership, and uncertainty around the brand identity killed it for me.

Only the fingers in their ears and hands over their eyes die hards can’t see the writing on the wall.

I’m still excited but this has really been a long wait. A REALLY long wait.

@StylesT already has for me, just in the last few months. I still have my Xboxes, but I’m buying all my games on PS going forward. Won’t be a need for an Xbox in the near future. Shame, I’ve always owned an Xbox.

@Kienda they never do anything special for their dedicated fans, especially their console players. And before anybody says “day one on GamePass”, yeah, we pay for GamePass.

This strategy already has me VERY hesitant to invest a single dime further in to this ecosystem. Not because I hate Xbox; quite the opposite. But I question Xbox’s future with regards to hardware and viability. If others don’t have an issue with everything being multiplat in the future, that’s fine, but it gives me and many others no reason to invest in Xbox beyond playing their games elsewhere.

Bought it at launch last year and completed the storyline. Haven’t really been back to it as my buddies lost interest as well. I did have fun with it though.

I want Indiana Jones (which let’s face it will probably be on PS5 anyway), but short of that I won’t be buying anything more in this ecosystem. I honestly regret buying so many 3rd party games on Xbox the last few years. Could have been building a PS library instead.

Doubtful, Xbox doesn’t seem to care much for its console players this generation. The Series Consoles are not selling, so why would they bother with a Pro?

Can’t find it in the U.S. at retail price anymore.

If you like arcade racers, Dirt 5 and GRID Legends are superb.

Ryse: Son of Rome is still a fantastic game. Very underrated and excellent graphics.

Tyler has great content, recommend everyone who has great gaming memories sub to his channel.

Still have mine, still hooked up to a CRT. Still buying games for it. Such a great console!
