Hopefully they can make this both feel as realistic as it is but way more interesting. I find I'm up for playing, play for an hour or so, get bored, put down for ages then 4 months later do the same. I'm not sure why by the originals had so much more fun with them. Maybe it's the amount of laps? The AI? I'm not sure but it just feels like an empty racetrack.
@Ricky-Spanish probably closed all the studios and future work so it eliminates the Sony style competition. Or the games will take many years to materialize - either way, the Activision deal wasn't a good one IMO
@Markatron84 it's a good point about the keep factor. I was merely commenting on the lack of quality. I've just not turned on my Xbox as I've either been playing games on my steam deck or buying them on the ps5. Weird when I wasn't a subscriber the games came thick and fast then when I joined, it's been really boring. At least I only paid £70 for two years, but I don't think I'll be replacing, particularly if Forza 7 comes out on ps5 in the next year or so!
In all seriousness, what were the original ps1 controller sticks technology wise? I mean none of those for me had drift, whereas virtually everything of this generation has suffered terribly. My switch controllers - one pair is completely duffed with drift, one of my ps5 controllers, my switch pro controller seems fine, both my Xbox controllers had to be replaced with drift, my steam deck seems fine so far.... But really I don't remember it being this bad, I only remember the n64 controller having that white dust and getting stiff but they never drifted. Basically I hope all manufacturers learn from this blip of a controller generation
Is it.me or are the gamepass games starting to feel worse than humble choice? Really hasn't been anything good for ages but I guess the few coming out later this year might help with that. But otherwise I'm not really enjoying having my subscription!
To be honest neither app has the ability to download games to my Xbox drive expansion which is the one feature I would like, otherwise I've always had to my stuff to that and keep my internal storage empty ish or move to the expansion drive. If I download on the console it knows which one to select, but not on the apps. But 1 app is sure better than 2 for sure!
I'm not sure why but I hated the style of rugrats when I was a kid, not to mention it was only initially on sky which was very expensive early 90s. Think I was slightly too old when this came to itv and I was much more into things like the TV series reboot and the kids gameshows by that point.
@Lup I've got 4 and 5. 5's hotwheels tracks are fun but not challenging. 4 has a lot of content overall but also if you live in the UK + the seasons it's quite fun. Even if you don't live in the UK it has more personality. I enjoyed both however, I played 5 before 4 and I kinda like both together. If you can afford it, just buy 4 anyway just for the fun of it, or even try it on gamepass
I wonder how many of the game on the showcase will actually happen when they said they would happen? I mean if everything gets delayed after announcing like that, then I would rather prefer the Nintendo way of "only letting you know last min" or having actual release dates. Really wished I didn't resubscribe to gamepass as I'm playing games less on the Xbox and buying them on the ps5/switch. With all these games coming throughout 2025, this makes my current subscription not worth as much...
Xbox cloud streaming really isn't good enough yet. If they intend to fully use geforce now then we might get somewhere so that would be interesting to see. Then you only need a portable tablet like device that docks and that will sort hardware sales out
Well that looks like something behind the times! I'm sure this will be full of fart jokes. I'll make an ass of myself if I keep up with these jokes/puns.
Wait for the first legal case when someone does something wrong with that controller
I'm looking forward to selling my Xbox once the current two year subscription comes up for renewal, ads on my console almost make me want to give up game playing all together. But thanks to my steam deck, that's not really a problem 😄
Nothing very exciting, considering August should be summer holiday fun. I think the best summer of games was the year 2000 for the Dreamcast, many fond memories of playing crazy taxi, Ferrari 355 and a good few others. Tbh this summer feels a bit baron in general for all consoles. I will not be renewing my gamepass when it expires as ps plus extra does enough to scratch my gaming itch.
I must have missed the detail - so I'm stacked on ultimate until Jan 2026, will that remain until I come to renew and then I'll be charged the full price then?
Tbh while not representative of all markets, those are very low numbers really and shows why Microsoft is pushing for their games on other consoles, possibly even gamepass. I don't think they will be leaving the console market any time soon, however I wouldn't expect much of a jump of spec for the next console, probably more evolutionary + more types of different devices
No code for me yet, I bought the expansion pass pair for Forza 4 and Forza 5, I wonder if that means I'm actually excluded? Otherwise, I would expect at least half a refund as it wasn't cheap that pass....
Shame they didn't do that with the Iceland copy of the game I bought for 69p (which they refunded about 1 day later). Still, as I own the DLC this should be on my account when I get home!
I've not really touched my Xbox in a good while. Not so many new big hitters coming to gamepass as old, coupled with ps5 having decent games and on ps plus extra, I'm struggling to justify keeping the console
"Sustainable business" by eliminating the competition (by buying them all up) and then shutting down a good chunk of studios and eliminating all the talent? Sure, that's sustainable. People are just replaceable right?
Me and my son played this earlier (turns out a 5 year old is an excellent tester and will constantly break games). So if your trying to score own goals (as an adult trying to let your son win), it's actually impossible to shoot backwards and you have to walk the ball in. Too much automation with the players also when your trying to give the opponent the ball, as it really tries to tackle away automatically. But I mean it's a good game and these are unusual use cases, but still it feels like it's designed to be played normally but in the rules of the game.
I wonder if this is the biggest game ever? In terms of years developing etc. will this be the last one of this scale and size?
I think the success or failure of this will determine the video game industry and how it plans new games etc. Personally, I don't believe the big games thing is sustainable for the industry and it should be 2/3 big games a year followed by lots of smaller games like indie etc. We have probably seen that with MS taking everything over such an amount of companies to eliminate competition by shutting them down soon after. Means less chance of big games as there are less studios to make them and you can't fund a game of this nature without having being in the industry for decades.
@Ricky-Spanish I can only assume lack of profit. It's certainly not what most boxing gamers want is it? Let's hope this ignites the boxing game market again
@d0x3601 tbh I think it's does to instant access streaming and not having to wait for times on TV for your fav program etc. basically patcionce is something this generation dosent quite get as much as maybe we do. Tbh I do remember hating mario until I was about 7. We had a nes and the other games we had were mega man, gauntlet and gremlins - all mega hard games!
I'm sure my son will love bluey. Hopefully it's not one of those games for kids that's actually really frustrating to play. He hates mario for this reason and he also says he hates "old timey" games as they are a lot harder. Kids these days don't realise how easy things are.
And this is why mega mergers are not good - they are anti competitive and overall bad for the industry because of this type of action - buying other companies is simply there to eliminate the competition and make further profit. By shrinking their workforce in such a manor means they are adding pressure to the other remaining staff and trying to produce more output for less cost. Effectively MS has spent too much buying companies and the staff suffer the consequences. None of this is related to creating more games, it's all profit and overheads. Now you can see why the CMA thought it was a bad idea - expect more layoffs!
So with the price of current consoles gone up, this makes me think mid gen will be longer down the road because the logic is that the prices go up means they are keeping this gen alive longer. Nintendo being an exception, who will possibly announce something early next year or in September this year for Xmas.
Having said that, it's whoever blinks first. But I don't think the current gen have sold enough for them to be called a success yet, plus the MS Activision deal seems to also be playing a part in the next gen also.
They will only reveal the console last min to not discourage current console sales. It all depends on stock levels and demand, if demand and stock are high then they won't start selling the next one. As soon as they stop production and start with the Xbox xx then we would see an announcement. Also it depends on the competition, except Nintendo who are very much doing their own thing right now!
I guess my price of £139 bought last weekend from Currys doesn't now seem that good. But is that the UK price for 1TB now then? Which would make the 2TB £199
Sadly, I don't have enough time in my life to spend a billion hours completing all of these games, especially at £15 a month. They have defo overpriced this one! Besides, a good few of them are available on ps plus premium, which is far cheaper per year than this.
I'm probably just out of touch by something about this whole video presentation and presenter - I just skipped to each game in the video. Is this what the internet likes as a video these days? Truely tragic.
@Welsh_Will I really don't have the complete time to earn cars like that, let alone I still can't sell my duplicates. Forza horizon seems more accessible and I've got loads of cars on there and I'm still playing. GT7 I've put down and have not been incentifised to play GT7.
If Forza Motorsport brings cars and tracks in the same way as Forza horizon, excellent.
