The problem for Ubisoft is that players these days tend to have a backlog. I bought The Crew 2 when they had the really steep sale. I still haven't started up the game. Which means I still haven't agreed to the EULA. Also the fact they made physical copies and they end up getting resold.
It's nothing like Sega. The cloud didn't exist. My cloud professor believed the majority of people would give up the bulkier devices for cloud services. Microsoft seems to be planning for the future. Playstation might want to focus on its self or they might not survive the transition. Only time will tell.
A rip off of a rip off. I thought this might be a second game based on Atom RPG. Which was a rip off of earlier Fallout games. I might still check it out.
@fbnaulin Core Keeper had excellent reviews and has been compared to Stardew Valley. Overthrown is clearly going to be a preview. Which means it will change.
Complicated for who? It looks like 19 extra items at 10 MB. If a 190 MB creates some kind of issue for you I would recommend not downloading the game at all. lol
@ErgoGnomic did you not see what happened in Hollywood? Do you not watch TV? A lot of shows had only half the episodes they normally do. Other shows launched later then normal. While I'm sure others were cancelled. Unions have the potential to disrupt the industry as much as COVID did. It would be hard to say if a cancelled game is a positive or negative. If the game was terrible then I would say it was a positive. If the game was terrible because the budget got blown because of a strike I would say it's a negative. I would say it will be noticeable. Strikes could cancel games or delay them. They may still launch them because they can't afford not to. What we will end up with is a game preview instead of a full game. Strikes can bankrupt a company. While Bethesda is likely safe because it's owned by Microsoft. I just read an article about a coffee shop that unionized. The owner closed shop instead of going bankrupt. All those people thought they would get a pay increase now have no pay. The ask was too much. Which would make the price of a cup of coffee too much. After all the lay offs recently I don't think more would be a good thing. Although as I said Bethesda is probably safe. It's us that will pay for it. Those raises and money lost during the strikes have to come from somewhere. After the past several years of them complaining about crunch. I doubt they will crunch when it's needed. Are you ready for multiple GP subscription increases. Are you ready to pay $80 or $90 a game. Many unions have become as ridiculous as HOAs. People are either nostalgic or romanticizing the idea behind it but like feminism it's something else now.
I had completely forgot about Project Spark. I was PC gaming at the time. I downloaded it but never got around to messing with it. I decided to head to the local retro game store today and pick up a copy. It was supposed to be a bit like Nintendo's Game Builder Garage.
@Ryu_Niiyama I don't think I typically put points in that. I guess I was under the impression that it was for credits. That just kind of highlights the issue. I have to craft an item to sell in order to make money to buy ammo. Although somehow what we really needed was an eat function. Like I said someone please make this game make sense.
@InterceptorAlpha that must be what it is I'm a combat veteran that can't aim /s LMAO I guess my problem is I've never really been afraid of being outnumbered or outgunned. I go into areas that are above my level. I thought this game was meant to be played your way. I guess not. I should have stayed in my lane but that would have been boring. Ammo is an issue even without the way I want to play. Many people have complained on reddit about it.
@RadioHedgeFund for guns I don't have or ones with terrible DPS. Why would you make a game where you can harvest a quarter of the periodic table and not be able to craft ammo. Somehow people thought an eat now option was more important.
@JohnDoe1978 No, it doesn't. You need to play the game for that to take effect. As a seller you aren't playing the game. Although that brings up an interesting point. If a consumer for some reason had an unopened copy. They would be able to sue. TOS and EULA really aren't all that legal. You can't enter a legal contract with someone under the age of 18. Someone in California tried to use this to sue Nintendo but the judge decided to take it upon himself to rewrite the rule book.
As a deterrent to this kind of thing they need to be forced to by back all copies of a game on the shelf even the used ones. The only way this is going to change is if everyone that sells games files a class action lawsuit.
Excited that Lightyear Frontier is finally coming. I was starting to wonder what happened with it. I hadn't heard any news since they delayed the launch. I was bummed when they missed their release window last March.
@taternuggets I'm not sure exactly how long it's been on there. I know I discovered it at least a few months ago. It was originally a preview on PC. Maybe, that's where some of the confusion is. I barely played it on PC. It seems that it ran better though. The save transferred but I had to do NG+ to continue playing.
Why are both tweets by women in their early 20's? You would think the younger generation would actually understand that this is the future. As always completely out of touch.
@Kobeandodom LMAO you really don't know when to be quiet. I'm a Navy veteran and Army combat veteran. I used my GI Bill to go to college for networking technology. Best case scenario if this was in fact what they were doing is simply you paying more for Microsoft to play a game of whack-a-mole that they will never actually win.
@Kobeandodom That's right because you like paying more for the same thing. Not everyone else does. If this was about cheating they could just run a script before you enter multiplayer.
I haven't played any of these games even though I have Game Pass. It just doesn't really seem like something I would be interested in. Since they have been putting out details on this one. I've become somewhat interested. Might play it.
If BG3 is already out on other devices wouldn't we already know where it's going to fall? There also isn't much point of mentioning a DLC for a game that made the list.
@Mephisto2869 I get what you are trying to say. You want a finished product. It just wasn't the best analogy to use. Which is why I was giving you a hard time. The 1st reboot of Spiderman was never finished it should have been a trilogy. Rowling could have got stuck with the Harry potter series and never finished or had a long pause. Most people say the ending to GoT was terrible. Martin was probably burnt out and only slapped together something because he was under contract with no choice. Which I think is part of the problem in the gaming industry. I think a better way to show this is bad for the consumer. Would be to ask if they are willing to purchase a car at full price without wheels and windows if they were promised they would get them in a few months. What if they were told they would end up having to pay extra for them? What if you were told that they weren't sure if they would even come in? Who TF would buy something like that? So, why do gamers? I think some of it is FOMO. I think the game is call Age of Extinction. They released what will be it's final update then delisted it. In the comment section of the story. Someone says "They didn't even give us time to panic buy it".
I think the real problem is honesty and price gouging.Starfield for example. To me it's not finish and I'll probably never support it. They could have been honest and they would at least had my respect. They could have said "Hey we have been working on this game for 8 years and are burnt out. We will Take community feedback in order to finish the game over the next two years." Which is essentially what they are doing. Then there is the issue with pricing. It used to be at least on PC that when you bought into something that was unfinished like a beta or early access. You would get it at a steep discount. Typically 50% off. Again the gaming industry got greedy and I guess the FOMO drives sales. Starfield in it's current state isn't worth $70-$100(at least to me). To me it's worth $40 until it's finished. Not until it's actually finish should they release a physical copy and charge $70. I understand why they release it unfinished. Not wanting all the money and man hours going to waste but I'm right there with you this has gotten ridiculous.
Although I feel it's hard to complain about a new game that you can play for under $20. It's releasing on PC which for the most part has become digital early. In which case everything gets updated and you don't really have a choice about it. So, a game that still needs work doesn't feel like it matters as much. Typically the biggest issue for me when they release an unfinished game is in regards to physical media. The nice thing about physical media or buying from GOG is that you can play the original version as it was if it was finished. I don't always care for all the updates. They don't always make things better. I guess I can be a bit of a purist.
I've never really taken a close look at it. Although I bought it right before the launch of Starfield. It seems to have two air intake ports They probably take up about 30% of the back, with the PSU, HDMI, and USB port in between them. Most of the top of this thing is an exhaust port. Seems like it has a PC case fan in it. I've had Minecraft running for the past 2 hours. The fan is barely blowing and it's only slightly warm air. I haven't paid much attention to it. I guess if I were to run a AAA for a few hours it might heat up a little. I guess I could see a problem with the display if it blocks the air intake ports but then it would also be likely to be blocking the other ports as well.
