If he was passionate about the games development, he would've been passionate about the game getting canceled, and self fired. When I read statements like this, I understand why MS did what they did now.

I honestly believe the wrong console platform was supported by consumers this generation. I like my PS5Pro but the SeriesX gets far more use.

@BaldB3lper78 No, not apples to oranges or pears. Nintendo pushed technology in their consoles until they had competition. N64 was considered more powerful than PS1 but by a small margin. GameCube competed but was overpowered by PS2 and newcomer Xbox. Nintendo acknowledged their direction with Wii to not compete directly in the technology race but instead with first party games. Nintendo now utilizes and charges a premium for outdated tech, albeit a modern version that is smaller and more efficient, to maximize profits. That philosophy has remained unchanged every generation since as WiiU, Switch, and Switch2 are all modernized older tech. Its genius but not consumer friendly when you break it all down

@BaldB3lper78 Ive had this debate before. When people rank besting selling console of all time they include handhelds such as Switch. I argued that if handhelds are included then so should mobile and that makes Smartphones#1 gaming console. Hybrid or not. Handhelds belong in their own category vs a stand alone console.

@themightyant Not talking about Deluxe Editions and consumers waiting for the price drop, and sale price. Expansions don't sale well separately from the base game. There are more games today but by comparison there are less single player expansions

@themightyant The info's out there. You just have to do your research. Look at the single player campaign games that have released w/ paid expansion vs no paid expansion since 2015 vs 2005-2015. You'll find devs have decreased investing in paid expansions

It's a combination of leadership direction in the studio, social media pressure, and questionable and or misaligned talent capabilities for game development.

@themightyant Not bold at all. Follow the money and look at the trends. Less and less devs are adding additional story based content to single player campaigns. R* is the prime example here. "GTA 4 itself is estimated to have sold over 25 million copies. And as a result, both GTAV and RDR2 do not have expansions.
Im not here to dig info for you, it's a comments section, not a research paper. No one remembers where they read everything but probably on GamesIndustry.biz or some other industry insider site.

@Techno92LFC Expired licenses of IP such as songs, brand names, etc... is one of the main reasons. From a functionality standpoint, newer consoles are emulating the old console tech so there's always problems

@Kaloudz Wow. Did you experience VR heaven? JK. If I was to describe a great VR experience, the only time you see the screen is when you put on the headset. Once the screen changes to VR your brain is no longer aware of the headset and screen, but thinks it's in a real world wide open space. I know you will not but if you were to try VR, let someone who's very experienced in VR set it up, put the headset on, stand in one spot, and just look around. Good luck

Pubg is going strong, and is set to receive a new engine on consoles in 2025. wOrSt gAmEs don't make these kind of numbers and get a new version 8 years later. Loading and animations are fine unless you're on a low tier ISP plan, wireless, old router, and/or on last gen console with an old tv/monitor. Anyone can get into a lobby with 100 players in normal mode, or 60 players in ranked within 2 minutes, anytime of the day. In 2025, if you disable crossplay on any online mp game or console, you eliminate a majority of the available player base that has it enabled. If you're having difficulties in PUBG with a controller, that's a you problem. This is a hard BR game, and it's not meant for casuals like Fortnite and Warzone.

Nintendo would celebrate if its competitors decided to produce consoles w/o a disc drive bc that means the absolute end of physical games media for said competitors and no competition on retail shelves

I liked SoD1. SoD2 felt more like a fetch quest, baby sitting, chore sim. SoD3 needs to be more isolated, or smaller group management, temporary tent camps instead of base building, the other survivor groups need not be easily or if ever trusted, and hostile, just moment to moment survival.

No surprise it runs slightly better on the PS5 bc the common denominator is PS5 is leading consoles in the home so the Series X is the ported version

@kihaennem I bought the RWv3 day one and really like.

SoD2 needs another patch to fix the notifications that keep updating and cause the game to crash. Minus that new issue, SoD2 is polished but the game missed the idea of a sandbox survival zombie apocalypse bc this game is a baby sitting, fetch quest, chore sim with zeds. SoD3 needs to feel more isolated and alone or minimal group fighting to survive.

Ive got a huge collection of 360 games thanks to GWG. PS is still giving monthly games to play if you maintain your PS+. It's a no brainer and MS should bring it back but I understand they don't want it to conflict with GP
