But how well did it sell compared to those games? I remember reading a comment when all the reviews came in that said Activision will now use other metrics to measure its success because sales will be down compared to previous titles.

Well they called it, but it feels very disingenuous to me and just another way to fool the sheep into thinking it's a better game than it actually is.

The GamePass and Ad revenue box seems to be stagnant again. It really does seem like Microsoft will go 3rd party the first chance they get.

@Sifi Actually I'd go one further and say the last of us 2, a Ps4 game that came out 3 ½ years ago probably still has better graphics than any 1st party Xbox exclusive.

@InterceptorAlpha Yeah, it makes total sense and wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's actually the case. Maybe they can implement 60fps now that they've eased up a little on the parity clause but it'll also be like they are admitting the S held it back if they do.

I thought maybe with it's history and the nostalgia on Xbox that the players will want to support it but I guess not. Sure there's other factors that played a part but I guess that, it'll come to GamePass eventually mentality got the best of them on this one.

Hi-fi Rush is a great game, its just a shame the genius behind it quit Tango after it was completed.

I thought Starfield was a massive disappointment so I'm not surprised it didn't make the cut and for the people crying about Hi-Fi Rush just look at the metacritic scores.
If you use them as a reference point then it would be between Alan Wake 2 and Hi-Fi Rush on who gets the final spot on the list but obviously they thought Alan Wake 2 was more deserving.

That's a pretty good deal and I'd imagine that it will fly off the shelves.

Xbox should have taken a look at the game and priced it accordingly, instead they just forcibly marketed it by taking over the home screen.

@Mephisto2869 The latest figures are over 4 million Ps5's sold in Japan and Xbox has sold approximately 2.3 million across all 4 generations of Xbox since the original launched in Japan 21 years ago.
I doubt it will ever take off in Japan with those numbers.

Seems like the Japanese are waiting for the slim PS5 to release.

And there it is. Now the Activision deal has went through they're trying to claw back as much money as possible even if it F's over the Fight Game and Sim Racing communities in the process.
Cod makes the big bucks so going forward ofc they'll prioritise that over anything else.

It's actually a strange one. Are they trying to kill the console sales in Brazil because it's not profitable there anyway or do they actually believe that Brazilians will still pay it just to get access to GamePass. Could it be a bluff to sell more? Like they pretend they're going to increase the price so everyone runs out and buys one and then just before it's supposed to increase they backtrack or something. Its definitely a head scratcher.

@RazputinAquato Those price increases were for the Series X only, this is the Series S getting a price increase and it even states in the article you linked that the S won't be getting a price increase.

@somnambulance @Moonglow MLB the show 23 is 1st party even though it's a multiplat game, but it's kinda irrelevant because it was never going to make this list. I'm surprised to see Assassin's creed mirage and lords of the fallen up there though even though they're 70's on meta. Make no mistake though this is a 2 horse race between BG3 and ToTK even though neither of them would be my personal pick.

@Banjo- Those charts don't tell the full story. It probably wouldn't be the best selling game of September if any of its main competition released earlier in the month.
EA sports FC had only been out for 1 day and took 3rd place and Mortal Kombat for 11 days Vs 30 days of sales for Starfield.
