Re: Poll: How Important Is The Xbox Play Anywhere Program To You?

Dydreamr

I’ve been contemplating for a while that with all the drama surrounding Xbox constantly, the lack of trust in leadership, and the apparent disregard for their most loyal customers that Xbox was going to do something to make it easy to leave. Then they raised the game pass price, and that was the final straw for me. I’m still around because it is my favorite console, I have a lot invested in the ecosystem, and I really loved Xbox yet I’ve decided for now that I’m not investing any further in the ecosystem.

I have a rog ally x and play anywhere was a huge incentive because I could play games on that and my Xbox and seamlessly switch between the two. Now I am slowly migrating over to steam.

Re: Talking Point: Looking Back At A Turbulent But Productive Year For Xbox

Dydreamr

I know that it has been a rough year as an Xbox fan, yet I still play games on my Xbox, use the ecosystem on my Rog ally, and talk to my friends who play on Xbox. I also re-upped my game pass subscription. On the other hand, you read comments on this website, and people seem to be really mad with Xbox. I know that I felt like I had been hit with a gut punch at the beginning of the year. Yet they delivered on getting Japanese publishers to stop skipping the platform, and have strong partnerships with Capcom, square enix, and even atelier is publishing on the platform next year.

Re: Rumour: Xbox May Be Gearing Up To Reveal Handheld Device In 2025

I love the idea. I love my Rog ally paired with my series x. Can remote play, can play pc or console game pass, with play anywhere titles can seemlessly switch between tv and portable. I can play where I want when I want which is what Xbox is already great at. And can play games from whatever storefront I want with price competition.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox & Nintendo Switch Owners, How Do You Split Your Third-Party Purchases?

Dydreamr

I now own all the major systems, yet rarely buy for the switch or ps5. I used to primarily game on the Xbox, and bought everything there. I rent many things for that, and then buy if I want to keep. Now I have a Rog ally x, and so I primarily game on that and buy play anywhere titles on the Xbox store so I can play on both, and play the more graphically demanding game on Xbox. I also buy a bit on steam because it’s often cheaper.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 18-19)

Dydreamr

Playing through sniper elite 5 on game pass. Not my normal type of game, but I’m having fun. I am taking a break from stellar blade and unicorn overlord, and am waiting to start sandland. I find in this discussion that my preferred console is my Xbox. I like the controller better, I like the ui, and I prefer the ecosystem. When paired with a rog ally, I can remote play or sync my saves back and forth. I also recently discovered better xcloud, and I like using that with my computer and prefer remote playing with it to greenlight.

Re: Subscription Services Like Xbox Game Pass Appear To Have 'Stalled' In The US

Dydreamr

You always have to look at this type of thing with a critical mind. Is this one single person accurate. Does it reflect a broader trend, like with other things where subscriptions boomed during Covid and have shrunk since then in all types of services. The expansion of the subscription model to other areas, and fatigue about subscriptions. If this is even true. This is not just a video game trend, and it is not just a Microsoft thing.

Re: Reaction: Xbox's Push Towards 'Microsoft Gaming' Looks More Drastic Than We First Thought

I have been into the Xbox ecosystem since 2019, and it has been mostly a joy. I love the system and ecosystem under Phil Spencer, and it seems clear from this that that vision is gone. It bothered me in January, and I woke up this morning and I realized I don’t care about their June showcase. I am their hardcore customer, and I’m sick of them. I still read some of the things Spencer said years ago, and they sounded wonderful. This move by them now is short sided, because aaa games are getting more
Expensive to make, and aa can be put out for a service like game pass or whatever and take less time and less money. Anyway, I believe that as much as I love them, and I prefer their console to anything else, I am done with them

Re: Talking Point: Would You Mind If The Next Xbox Was A Portable Console?

Dydreamr

@Blaa They perform great, though it does not run Xbox games natively. It has windows on it, which allows for great compatibility with gaming stores and support for pc game pass, but that is also its Achilles heel. For game pass games and games that support it, it has cross save and cross progression so you can play on the Xbox and put it on the ally. It also can stream to the cloud, as well as your Xbox.

Re: Microsoft CEO Comments On Xbox's New PlayStation Store Success

Dydreamr

People look at the situation like sales, and they don’t seem to see the connection of how Microsoft inflicted the wound themselves. The rumors and the exclusives being ported probably had something to do with the lack of console sales, and they are further poisoning it with comments like this and their actions. Maybe it makes them short term revenue but at long term expense of their identity as a brand. A lot of people have said that Microsoft is a company that is only in it to make money, but what exactly is wrong with having a vibrant fan base that cares about their product and who they are loyal to. That is what apple did for years, and it really paid off.

Re: 'Immortals Of Aveum' Studio Announces Layoffs For 45% Of Staff

This is really sad. I had been looking forward to this game , and it was originally scheduled to launch in July with nothing around it. They bumped it to August 21, which coincided with Baldurs gate 3, armored core 6 releasing within days, sea of stars, and starfield.

I still got the game and enjoyed it very much, but it bugged out and I couldn’t progress the game after 33% in. I am still waiting on a patch so I can finish the game. I liked this game, and this is sad news.
