Capcom Has Made Record Profits Again, For The 8th Year In A Row

In recent times, it feels like we've been singing Capcom's praises fairly often - and in an industry that seems intent on consistently delivering bad news, we're going to carry on doing just that. This week, as part of its most recent financial results, the Japanese game maker has announced record profits for the eighth year in a row. Bravo!

Coming by way of VGC, Capcom has "achieved record-high net sales and profit at all levels for the eighth consecutive year" - that being fiscal year 2024, running through this March. Those results were driven by just north of 50 million games sales across the year; over five million more than in fiscal year 2023.

Monster Hunter Wilds has been a major catalyst in Capcom hitting a new record this year, to no real surprise. The 2025 monster slayer sold over 10 million units in its first month on the market - and it's probably shifted even more copies in the weeks since then. We'd also expect it to contribute a significant amount to Capcom's next financial year as well, given the game's continued popularity.

It's not just brand-new releases that are fuelling these records either; a significant portion of revenue is coming from Capcom's back catalogue here. Popular entries in the Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Dragon's Dogma series' are contributing big numbers - Capcom's record in releasing stellar video games in recent times seems to be paying off.
