I have no problem calling arguments or even opinions stupid and I stand by that regardless of how you attach it to my teaching. Arguments, opinions and adults as well.
Video games are not groceries. Video gaming market is not a necessity. Groceries are. Weaving these two things together is not valid. Eating, heat, electricity, housing, healthcare, transportation. These should all be available to every single human on the planet affordably or without cost.
Video games are not those. If you defend a hard line then why do you get to say what it is? And is it 60 bucks? That's not affordable to all. So is it your pompous or my middle-class fat ass that gets to do that decision for a market that is not a necessity and that delivers goods and services by demand not by need?
Gamers want large AAA games as well as the cheaper games. They absolutely want them. They want the photorealistic shooter. They want the absolutely massive open worlds. If people didn't want those games they wouldn't sell millions and millions of units every single year.
There are many many many many problems within the gaming industry for example the ongoing consolidation of smaller companies to these massive capital investing horror shows ie. EA-purchase latest.
Or the crunch and toxic environments and the labor rights of the workers, anti-unionism in the States, growing use of AI to detour or straight up FU immaterial rights and acting etc.
But a price range of a game. That is absolutely in the hands of the companies. We are not owed anything in terms of that.
I just canceled my Game Pass that was the best god darn value in gaming for five years after XSX was released. Absolute gold before now turned into too little value for the money.
But it is still their right to make that decision on what to put there or how to price it. I don't get to do that as a customer in an industry like this. I am not supposed to have a bargain power in this other than my wallet.
And even though you might argue with the christmas sales I'll say that it is bollocks and any 70 buck well known IP with strong marketing or good reviews is still selling bonkers at holidays. Gaming is NOT a kids market and hasn't been that in over a decade. It's a hobbyist market.
So yeah. It doesn't matter one bit if you don't believe me to be who I am. But saying stuff like video games are on par with necessities is childish and stupid. They are not. Warhammer 40k is disgustingly expensive these days. Do they have the right to keep it like that? Yes.
If you want to stand for some affordable hobbies I'd say go for the sports. That's where the kids money is.
Progressive green politician from EU and primary and soc teacher actually. Video gaming is one of the things where capitalism is very much ok.
Video games don't have to even reflect the current inflation rate and yet they have been constantly and significantly under it for a really long time.
Arguing about a 70 dollar or 70 euro video game with the same argument or vehement as one would energy, housing, groceries or healthcare is frankly in my view childish and idiotic.
Especially when we are in a world where as I said before, there is more games than ever before by more developers than ever before with more variation and prices than ever before. Anyone can vote with their wallet, but saying that there should be some hard price limit for games based on mainly gamers nostalgia is just wrong. It's just stupid in my opinion
Video game prices have been stagnant for 25 years. 70 bucks is alright in a market that is full of games ranging from small indie games priced at five bucks up to 70-80 buck AAA-games.
Welp. This was a good five year run but 66% price hike in Ultimate and nerfing every other tier in favor of Ubisoft ***** list and effing Fortnite is the deal breaker.
From the best deal in gaming into a ***** show in one fell swoop. Canceled.
Top-10 game of all time. Perfect combination of melodrama, aestethics, epic score, gameplay loop and writing.
Haven't had tears in my eyes and laughing at the same time for a video game in twenty or so years probably. There are SO MANY subtle, beautiful, funny, heartfelt moments in the game.
"Papan, Ma t'en" just made me absolute ugly cry laugh and might be my favourite moment of all time in video games.
And final battle was just breezing through this fantastic aestethic of what was essentially gods as men.
Damn what a game. Just everything. Might be greatest JRPG ever. Even if I REALLY REALLY wanted to visit and play some of those easter egg jokes in real. (Looking at you double dyad).
GAH. I don't know what I want to play anymore. Like I literally just closed my console after I finished and I don't know what or when I will play next time cause I feel like this was it for now.
I can't praise this enough. Even if it sounds silly and dramatic and over the top. It is. As the game was.
@Nightcrawler71 There is MASSIVE amount of lore and dialogue if you wish. You can skip a lot of it but many of the puzzles and side things require reading and figuring things out from the texts.
Narrative and storytelling fits the world of WH40k really well and the characters are top notch. Combat is fluid enough even if there are some OP skills in the early game.
But yeah. Absolutely great. A true steal for the Game Pass.
People are complaining a lot about three days in a world where waiting times for games are years and years.
Me. I am really liking the game. The open ended Vatican level is really fun and I was worried that the puzzles would be silly or nonsensical but thus far they have been really nicely played out.
Can't wait to get longer into it. Definitely easy eight to nine for me thus far.
And beating nazis is such a big bonus in any game.
For anyone thinking about playing the game it is more of a sneaky platformer than an open world game. It nails a lot of Star Wars stuff really well and has decent side activities in form of different gambling and such.
Speeder racing and driving is at the moment atrocious. I really hope they improve on that later on. Shooting works and Nix is a really fun as soon as you learn to use his quick moves. Skills and upgrades has nice feel to it that makes you try different things.
Also. The game is every now and then absolutely Beautiful if you just take your time. Most of the time decent.
For anyone interested Core Keeper is absolutely one of the best in the farm/life sim genre. It has fantastic core loop and really good base building. Just a right amount of vibes from stardew for an underground mining and adventure sim. Also you can build Go-kart tracks.
It's a REALLY good game. I'd recommend it to everyone.
Fast, easy to use and with a lot of good features, quick resume being the absolute blast.
Services: A+
Game pass is the best value in video gaming. Other than that console offers great variety with apps and bonuses
Software: A-
Fantastic games throughout. Some might say there haven't been enough massive AAA first party games but for someone like me that plays almost any genre, there's been more than a lifetime supply of games already.
@Eslam Pentiment happens to be a great game that fully deserves praise. Even if you don't like the game it's still one of the best games of the entire year.
And maybe wouldn't have even been made without Game Pass.
So stick the elitism up your own and let people enjoy their games.
Blitzball is one of the better minigames in the entire series history. Also to me personally FFX-2 is underrated gem. I love the jobsystem in it.
All in all FFX is the highpoint of the series after which it tumbled down. FFXII was still pretty good, after that it's been shockingly fast spiral downwards.
Bought myself a two year gamepass with quite a good deal as I got my Xbox X.
Already the EA alone is giving me run for the money. That with for example Kingdom Hearts complete collection and MS exclusives. I have already games for two years.
But what really sold me after the purchase is the multiplayer. Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Enlisted etc. Just being able at anytime hop in the system and find friends and foes to play with.
I love single player games. But Gamepass made me multiplayer.

Canceled mine. Gonna Switch to PC and Switch 2 for main gaming and then hit Xbox with some sales or such. Shame to leave Silksong hanging though

Re: Xbox Game Pass Is Adding Another 'Game Of The Year' Next Week
April might have been the best ever month for Game Pass.
But 2025 might be the best ever year for the service.
Just banger after banger with amazing Indies and classics on the gaps.
Re: These 11 Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (May 21 - June 3)
That list is a certified Banger menu.
Already played few runs of Monster Train 2. Seems to be pretty much the same as the first one and that is a praise of a high caliber.
Division 2 is a good game that got way too much bad rap when it came out.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is better than Persona. It is THE best Atlus game. Absolute gem.
Symphonia is another gem. The world and the music blend seamlessly and the platforming is spot on.
This is one of the best months for Game Pass.
Re: GTA 6 Characters, Locations & Screenshots Revealed In Massive Info Blowout
No Orlando in any way

I'd agree with the review on this one.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader On Xbox Game Pass?
One of the best modern crpgs.
Narrative and storytelling fits the world of WH40k really well and the characters are top notch. Combat is fluid enough even if there are some OP skills in the early game.
But yeah. Absolutely great. A true steal for the Game Pass.
Re: These Three Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (February 20-25)
Rogue Trader is a steal. Absolute value on the Game Pass february.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 8-9)
Civ 7
Been getting that ***** day one since Civ 2. Every single DLC and expansion as well. Not gonna divert from the one more turn path.

Re: Metal Slug Tactics Is Launching Day One On Xbox Game Pass Next Week
YES!
I didn't even know this was a Game Pass title and now it's next week. Awesome!
Demo was simple but fun. It'll be nice filler between the massive games of this year like Metaphor and Dragon Age.
Re: Xbox's 10 Top-Rated Games Of The Year Are Matching Very Closely To 2023
Unicorn Overlord should be higher. Easily a 10/10 for me personally. REALLY Waiting for that Metaphor to hit this night.
Re: These 20+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (October 7-11)
Played Metaphor Refantazio demo.
GOTY material easy. Just 100% Atlus goodness.

Chained Echoes on Game Pass and Sports Story on Switch.

Game Pass has been plentiful.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Coming To Xbox Game Pass Was MLB's Decision, Says Sony
I got my Xbox X a month ago with a two year gamepass ultimate deal.
I gotta say it's the best deal in gaming without a doubt. I've already easily surpassed what I would have payed for games premium during two years.
Xbox X + Switch is the ultimate gaming combo right now.
