Re: Talking Point: What Do You 'Expect' From Xbox Over The Next Five Years?

RunGMhx

When you come to think of it and I might be wrong as I’m no Microsoft historian, the Xbox brand is kind of the longest lasting line of Microsoft hardware product. To me the next Xbox will be more or less a proof on concept for their new windows gaming mode, a bit like the surface is more or less a proof of concept for the windows tablet experience.

I expect them to partner with other brand like they did with Asus to built more device centered around that experience while once in a while building another proof on concept to try new ideas. Xbox games will be multiplatform in the sense that they will be available mainly to this new ecosystem while sometime porting some other to other device like the PS5 a bit like they do for some software, like office, on Mac. Gamepass will remain exclusive to the Xbox partners.

Going this way will allow them to iterate on software, their core business, faster and the Xbox brand will be used in the same way some PC are marked as windows 11 ready. It will show as a seal or endorsement of minimum level of compatibility to achieve a given level of performance.

Re: Xbox & Microsoft Dominate The List Of 'Most Covered' Gaming Companies In 2025

Hopefully 2026 will be better because the 2025 coverage wasn’t positive for the most part for Xbox as a brand and its future.

That said the lack of sale for the console around Christmas and Black Friday and the lack of investment for the player with the year in review leads me to believe that MS more or less see the Series S/X generation as over and kind of give up on them / write them off.

So unless they have big announcements of new hardware and release in 2026 I expect the current tone (at least perceived on my end) to continue or just to disappears.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Series X|S Owners, How's Your Storage Looking In 2024?

I absolutely need to buy an expansion card but they are too expensive at the moment to make me jump, so I put up with installing/uninstalling and sometime simply not play games that I would feel like because they’re not on the hdd.

My father in law come about once every month and he’s a big flight simulator fan, so I have to make space for that every 4 weeks or so…

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Gaming Resolutions For 2024?

Buy less games as I bought tons (50 or so…) during end of the year sales but truth is I barely have time to play any of them…

Doing some research it seems it can be a symptoms of craving free time… So another resolution would be to find more time to relax and play…
