For a company that claims game preservation is uber important, MS should really be commenting on these delistings and be transparent as to why they are taking these actions. It's well and good if people get refunds but has Pure Xbox (or any other outlet) reached out for clarification because that will go further than fans asking in comments or speculating in an article.

She's a suit through and through. It's sad to see the brand flatline but sadder considering how many people still cope and make excuses for themselves. It would be nice to see more prominent voices in the Xbox community actually hold these empty word salads to the fire, but the pessimist in me knows "journalists" have jobs too and they like access. The next few years will be interesting for sure though for gaming with everything happening in the space

I just did some shopping at my local Walmart and yeah, most of their remaining Xbox games are on deep clearance. Guess the retail presence of Xbox is basically numbered

@BleedingDreamer it's the same in Canada. Gamestop, Walmart, Best Buy, basically all our brick and mortar stores are downsizing and slowly removing Xbox from their game sections. It's truly sad and Xbox stays radio silent on the issue. I hate how the brand is being run into the ground by suits and Phil and Sarah are just there for the ride

Ridiculous considering Xbox is by their own words, winding down the Series systems. They are selling existing stock thats been sitting in warehouses for quite a while as the systems have sold a fraction of what Xbone was at this time in it's life cycle. The tariff talk is fodder for people to latch on to. Most companies are trying to see how far they can price gouge us right now. I'm curious to see what the manufacture date is on the odd system you'd find in wild. Mike Ybarra and others have said it's Microsoft wanting more money, not the price of manufacturing. Anyway, everything is an Xbox so the price shouldn't matter, right

Love to hear this update from the team. They are doing God's work. Just a shame the team decided to abandon Twitter for ideological purposes because a good chunk of the Insignia base was left behind from further updates on the service. But I did grab another Xbox so me and a bud can rock out like it's 2005 over Live. Keep up the good work Insignia!

This is pleasantly good news. Shame they can't have both versions on disc but it is nice all the same to have an actual Series X game all on disc over the One version. A rare kudos to Activision

@Kraven 100% agreed. Being an Xbox gamer the last few years (or decade) has been a challenge. Unless you are easily swayed by kind words and well intentions, they keep pivoting and not commiting fully to any strategy. This is an issue from the top, down. It'd be nice to see the brand return to glory but time will tell

Awesome to see an update finally dropped. Hopefully it fixes some of the sign in glitches we've been having on 360 lately. Definitely a cleaned up look, I'll take it!

I hope this isn't the case. Native backcompat is a real treat on the Series systems. Retro Classics is a neat experiment but for games that are 40 years old, there's still blur and desync. Streaming certain games is a neat option but this ain't the way right now, especially if you've purchased these games and DLC

@donv2135 idk my xbox profile says different. It's a pain to sign in so I don't comment often unless I feel necessary. And it's important to voice criticisms at company or brand you care about. I do recall saying back in December that Indiana Jones was a banger from the time I had played with it. Xbox and Bethesda did good on that one besides shipping nothing on disc

Yikes, a lot of Xbox players are real complacent. I get GamePass made a lot of people soft but for all the time MS cries about "carbon neutrality" and saving the world, this is a pretty dumb way to go about it. They just produce e-waste with these disc's if there's no data on them. Such a waste and a slap to people who like to buy physical

No, there's a version by Digital Exlipse from like 2007 that got delisted. Though I did just grab that version on PS3 so I'm not crazy!

Edit: I was looking for Golden Axe which is it's own separate game. It looks like it was delisted on Xbox a while ago

Golden Axe isn't even available to purchase after the 360 Marketplace closure so I'm not sure why they bothered to put it on this list. Mildly frustrating it shows up but can't purchase

It's a sad day indeed when Xbox stops competing and the suits just want the money. Longterm, the lack of competition will stagnate the market. I could see in 20 years when Xbox hardware has long been discontinued, Spencer will come out and say something like "we may have been to rash and we're just so excited for the future of gaming". I had the same issue last month with Prince of Persia. Good that they are at least aware of the issue. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth though when your system needs the internet to install a game from disc, especially when the required data is on disc 😬

This is great news, especially since it's a release that isn't skipping Xbox. Though the screen setup in this game will give me sweats over my OLED TV 😂

Just wanted to update everyone since I haven't seen it elsewhere yet, even though the marketplace is down now, you are still able to use the Avatar Store and view game pages from the marketplace as long as you have the game installed. Buying DLC still works this way too and presumably for games you've pinned or have demos for. I should have pinned the entire library then 😂 Also, man that new 360 Dashboard is eerily empty. Well, happy gaming to those who still enjoy their 360, see you out there!
Edit: And I guess they removed buying stuff through a games page in the marketplace now

As crap as Xbox has been for what seems like the last few weeks, I will give them and Bethesda credit for this. Letting the update come out even after the lights going out is a cool move

Honestly, Xbox just keeps digging themselves deeper and keeps burning the goodwill they built up during the last half of the One generation. Just empty promises and corporate speak day in and day out. I'd really like the community to put pressure on them the way people did for the Helldivers backlash but asides from the stupid price hike they tried on Gold/Gamepass a few years ago, the Xbox base and press seem to give them a pass. I just want a return to the competitive team green we had during the 360 gen!

Phil, you've been saying that since you took over running Xbox during the One era. The Series X/S hype was real till this gen dragged and promises were broken again and now we're shifting into the Xbox is every screen nonsense. I'm tired of the corporate tiptoeing and wordplay, make Xbox great again! And advertising it would do wonders too js

@FatalBubbles True, digital has its perks. But it's all about choice. The premium console should have a disc drive though and I still think Series S should have just been disc drivless and kept the same specs then this whole dance wouldn't be necessary. @Lightning720 you make some fair points but to many an Xbox fan, it comes across as tone deaf to what MS was doing with the brand in the 360 days. And I mean c'mon, MS trying to buy up more publishers and companies including Nintendo, looks weak for sure. Who'd be laughing if it were Sony trying to buy Nintendo? Time will tell, but yeah, I'm somewhat skeptical with Xbox looking ahead. We'll see. Happy gaming!

This whole fiasco really sours my outlook on the future of Xbox. They really want to go all in on Gamepass and Digital only consoles. And Phil's constant lying about preservation amoung other things is a slap in the face to many an Xbox fan. There were some cool nuggets for sure from this leak but damn, Xbox just looks weak and like they don't know their place in the market. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out

Honestly, Xbox always says they are always listening for feedback on the dashboard but only implement a feature the community asks for with other changes we didn't want. 5 icons on the menu for the store but less customization in terms of layout and Game Pass ads up the butt shows where their priorities are. Such a lackluster generation so far from both Sony and Microsoft

I doubt this will actually get used for its intended purpose much and will mostly be used to try to screw with people. It will get patched out like other unused features in the future when they realize the free press wasn't worth the price they pay for moderation. Got into some Search lobbies on MW3 last week with a friend, and gosh dang, did it feel good to hear the classic COD lobbies filled with angry kids and ripped out of their mind adults

Yes!! Had to keep jumping on PS3 for classic COD action. Good that they FINALLY fixed the server issues as tons of people still play these games

Honestly, why can't MS just make a good menu design. They used to have good functional Xbox OS's but not anymore. Their cluttered, unintuitive menu system is one reason I've been drifting away from my Xbox

It's been a trip experiencing this for the first time. But hopefully it becomes easier to register your console, because the lobbies are empty most of the time unless it's a high profile release. I agree, hopefully, MS works with them to bring the functionality back and maybe even work with 360, Xbone/XS

This is going to be awesome. Guess I'm going to the local shops to find a few more of these launch games then set up my Xbox this weekend. Can't wait to play with this new community!

Can't wait for this to launch. I've recently hooked my PS2 up online again and it's been a trip to play games online like it's 2006 again

I have mine still for 360 and One. Kinda wished the One version was a bit ergonomic but it works fine still all these years later. Now if only the Elite 2 controllers worked as well as those chatpads...

I'll be letting them know for sure. It's way to cluttered still and I would like to see my background more. Just something that screams Xbox game console again like the early 360 or OG Xbox days. It just feels lifeless and cluttered right now

Man I hope they improved the design. I'm on my third Elite 2 after the last two go stick drift. Worst part is, after all that, they had the nerve to tell me I'd have to pay for a third replacement then when I got it, it was just the controller without the box and parts. I had sold the broken one for parts and am now out of luck. Xbox customer service sucks so this better hold up better than the old ones

I just want the 360 CODs on GP. That alone would boost the player counts on 360. Most of the classic COD action is on PS3 these days due to the free online. I mean some of the servers are busted and need work but I doubt that will get fixed after the merger

I snagged a lot of games and dlc because so much of this was cheap. Really filling out my 360 library nicely. Need to check the 360 marketplace for any extra deals later

All Xbox 360 services aren't working for me. Called on Tuesday and they said 360 has been having issues for a while and are working on it. Now the Series X is having issues like others have been saying

Sniper Elite 2 was a steal. Never finished the 360 or Switch port so third times the charm?

Maybe it's getting relisted soon? Missed out on the DLC before it was delisted. I've been playing Horizon 2 on 360 off and on and as barebones as it is, it's still pretty fun. People still play that more than the original amazingly

Man that sucks. Was just playing Far Cry 3 online a few weeks ago. Still had a decent community playing online. I really wish Xbox had a "Community Game Night" they would promote a couple of times a month. They promote an old game and could maybe have it under free to play during the period, then people would go back and enjoy said game. They used to do something similar back in the 360 days, but those were for more recent releases. Could you imagine if they took a dead COD like Ghosts on the One and had a week promotion of it, sales would be way up and those servers would finally have more than 200 people playing at once. Everyone wins c:

The core game play is fun, no denying that. I think most people's frustrations come from the game feeling empty compared to prior releases and a 6 year development cycle for the game with that 1 year delay really hasn't shown that 343 gets Halo. It's the missing features, lack of progression for multi-player, and just missing basic features like l co-op. The shop seemingly got the lions share of attention because that's the thing they kept focusing on consistently after launch. I liked the game enough until I finished the battle pass and it's the only one I'm finishing because without paying, it gave ZERO reasons to even finish it. The game played kept me coming back but I'm just burnt out now. The game needs a good recharge but the longer we wait for basic features and less purchasable fluff, the more people will get turned off and leave. It's good that people enjoy it still even if it's not where others are at, hell I love Pac-Man 2 on SNES and most others dump on it but seriously, Halo Infinite doesn't feel like Halo to many anymore for the reasons I listed above and probably more. Game on if you enjoy it, but the people who don't, have valid reasons too and they should be respected. Hopefully "Season 2" brings the game back to where it should be but time will tell

Still too high of a price considering a lot of these games multi-player is bugged out one way or another. Heck, even Black Ops 3 on One is having issues these days matching people. I want to keep playing these games with friends but Activision hasn't lifted a finger to address any issues in the last few years. Shame because the actual player base for some of these games is still quite high depending on the platform
