Great, enjoying games also means to me, that I have the option of buying these on disc, which Microsoft doesn't want me to, it seems.
Where can I pre-order a physical version of South of Midnight??? 😒 Doesn't seem like it's coming.
Obscure 33 must be imported from USA on XBox, but gets a disc release here on PS5. It sucks!!!

It was the original XBox.
But in my case, I wasn't that much interested back then. I had a PS2 and later a Gamecube.
My brother already had the XBox and loved it. We played a lot of Halo and Dead or Alive 3, I watched him play several games, but I wasn't in need to have it myself.
The XBox 360 was the place when XBox really got me on fire.
I remember, about 3 months after launch, Capcom showed the trailer of Lost Planet. I was like: holy *****, I need this!
And Kameo was already out and Dead or Alive 4 on the fence.
I bought the 360 Premium Pak together with Kameo and NFS Most Wanted. My 3rd game was Fight Night 3, which looked like a real box fight.
And when I saw Dead or Alive 4 at a store on an early HD TV, well, a month later I had the same TV.
I loved every bit of that console to death, this console also brought me to online gaming and made me meet some good people.

@Fiendish-Beaver yeah, the Game Pass Ultimate is like an illusion. When we could just buy a year of gold and transform it to Ultimate, it was like: why not.
But now, it's expensive and lot of people are paying for more than can use out of it.
It's a "pay the whole time" circle and if you quit it, you have nothing.
I really prefer buying games, it's not always day 1, I just bought Indiana Jones.
Most of my games are on disc. No one tells me, when a game isn't available anymore and I'm in no subscription rush.
I like it that way.

@Fiendish-Beaver than you can do it like me, not supporting Ultimate, go with Core, if you like to play online and just buy every game.

They could make Game Pass Core a bit more interesting, I preferred the times of XBox live gold with 4 free games per month.

I'm so happy, that they made this 2nd Trilogy. But I will wait, because I'm very sure, there will also be a physical release with this one.
I want the same nice Collectors Edition with Steelbook and art book like the 1-3 Trilogy.

Not supporting this game. Ridiculous 'code in a box' release, far too expensive and I don't think it would be my cup of tea.

@Steel76 I'm using Game Pass Core right now. I don't want to miss online play.
I would have to upgrade to Ultimate and that would mean losing half of the subscription time I paid for.

@FarmDog08 I played just a little bit of Takes of Arise on PS5. It looked great, but I was also not that hooked about it.
I think JRPGs are often overrated.

It sucks that the physical version is PS5 only. Ninja Gaiden is XBox!
So I won't buy it for now and wait for a bigger price drop digital.

I guess besides Tales of Arise, there's nothing to really miss.

My old subscription was over. I made a new one with Game Pass Core.
It's just not worth it for me anymore, making Ultimate out of it, costs me 6 months.
And it's not possible to use everything out of it, so I bought Sniper Elite on disc.

I didn't play it and I don't have plans to change that.

@gollumb82 you're right with this. And so, it's not bad, that it reached 4 million players.
But it doesn't change the fact, that it was only downloaded with Game Pass on most systems.
And if that's a success for the studio and years of development, is another question.

I guess maybe 200.000 players bought the disc version and the rest installed it through Game Pass.

Everything comes to PC and PS5.
Why should anyone care about XBox anymore, when Microsoft throws away everything? I even saw that Ninja Gaiden Black 2 gets a disc version on PS5 and it seems only on PS5.
XBOX is lost, the only benefit on that platform is: "Day1 on Game Pass"

@Kloppo guess what, Dragon Age is in a great state and has no bugs, it runs like a dream on Series X.
But when I see how many likes you got, it makes no sense going on here.

It's a shame. Dragon Age Veilguard is such a great game and deserves way better.
Also Dead Space didn't sell that good.
These are rough times and I'm 100% sure the reasons are these restrictions.
People are way too stingy these days with games.

@Beetlebum91 yes, Crash 4 is insane. I lost interest at some point, it was just too much.

Crash Bandicoot 4 is so old now. Even the Series X/ PS5 Version is out a while.
I guess it's cheaper buying just Crash 4 instead of paying for a month of Game Pass.

I would be more happy, if the 2GB SSDs would be cheaper.
Even with an additional XBox 1TB SSD, I still struggle with space for Series X games.

The controllers on XBox are what the exclusive AAA games are on PlayStation. At least XBox has a lot of controller editions😅

Having a WD 1TB expansion for a longer time now.
Also having a 2TB Hdd external for older games.
The internal 800GB from the Series X are way too small.
I'm having games like Gears 5, Halo MCC and Halo 6 always installed. Games are too big these days.

It's also said, that studios are more and more turning their back to Game Pass, because it's not worth it and they want to sell their games traditionally.
And i absolutely can see why.

You should post that interview here about the Gamepass, where it's said, that the sales of premium games are held back up to 80%.

@OLD64FOREVER yes it is. It's crazy, but playing those games after such a long time makes me feel, why so many people are saying, that games aren't as good anymore as they where back then.
A lot of PS2 games still hold up well. I'm playing GTA 3, which was my first PS2 game in 2001 and I'm surprised how much fun it is today.
Developers like Capcom, Namco or Sega where so creative in that time, they just made games without play times around 60+++ hours.
And that's what I don't like about modern games, when you put aside these 4K ray traced visuals, what stays isn't better in many cases compared to 2001, it's often weaker.
In many modern games, I have the feeling, beating those games I like work, not like fun.
Games nowadays are offering 100 side missions with boring backgrounds, collectibles, cosmetics, skill trees, crafting. A lot of things distracting from the actual gameplay which should be just fun.

I'm into Life is Strange Double Exposure, but I didn't get it for Christmas, it's just one of the many games I try to beat from my collection.
Also playing a lot of PS2 games right now.

Gears 5, Robocop, Scarlet Nexus.
