@themightyant I ended up picking up a physical copy on Amazon for like $23 and I loved my time with it jank and all. Definitely looking forward to trying the new update and expansion

For whatever reason I never got into Halo. Gears was my first exposure to Xbox and I never ended up giving much time to Halo. Will be picking up a physical copy for Series X at launch and very much looking forward to it. Currently playing through Resynced and having a blast

@Balaam_ very well said I just can’t see Gears moving a lot of consoles. It will be played by most people on gamepass and then forgotten about. I would love to see Xbox be a viable alternative to PlayStation and Nintendo but gamepass has seriously devalued the worth of Xbox titles.

@Millionski absolutely agree that ABK was just too much for them to handle. My issue with Gamepass is that the new releases were bundled in and sharing the revenue of all the other games on there. I don’t have a clue how the revenue split is but without those day 1 or even week 1 sales of new releases I just don’t see any way possible for them to turn a big enough profit which we can assume is why they were forced to go multi platform. Removing Call of Duty from Gamepass Day 1 is proof that they need those day 1 sales

Gamepass is what has destroyed the XBOX brand. It has completely devalued the worth of a new game. It brought in a lot of short term cash but it is not sustainable. Where is the value of buying an Xbox when you can play almost everything on PlayStation or just pick up the game on PC. XBOX users have a reputation of not playing games until they are on gamepass and I feel like that’s pretty accurate. Not getting those huge week 1 sales has really not helped either. Sure there is reoccurring revenue coming in but it’s nothing like having a brand new full priced exclusive that millions of people want to pick up day 1. As much as I love Gears of War it’s just not a system seller like it was for 2 or 3. Regardless of that I’m still buying it day 1 and will enjoy it

I was super excited seeing that Xbox console exclusive but then every other title is also coming to PS5 except Clockwork Revolution. Gears is my favorite Xbox series but it is not and has never been a system seller like Halo. I was really hoping they would go all in on exclusives and we could get a small glimpse of the PS3 vs 360 days when competition and innovation was at their highest.

If it will play Xbox or pc version day 1 then where is the value of even having Xbox built in. Backwards compatibility for older digital titles sure but moving forward the Xbox name will lose a lot of meaning if people can choose to play the PC version instead. I really think this will damage the Xbox brand even more long term. Without a dedicated console with a lower entry point you will lose a lot of casual players and without a disc drive and console exclusives you will lose even more of the core audience that they desperately need

@GeminiX53 I agree with this 100%. I think it has extremely devalued the worth of new games and the stigma is that Xbox users won’t buy games or play anything unless it’s on gamepass. True or not that is the perception of the Xbox community. I would say add them to the service after 1 year instead of killing the day 1 sales. Lower the price of gamepass per month and let new games stand on their own. Go back to making big new releases mean something

If the next xbox is some type of box that can play Xbox and pc games natively then what is the point of a dedicated Xbox. Especially if it’s going to be as expensive as we are being led to believe. The whole point of the console is to subsidize the price of entry and make it up in the long run with software and accessories. Without exclusives and a low entry price there’s no reason to buy an Xbox. I think it’s too late for Xbox to ever be a viable contender again in the console race which is bad for the industry and gamers both.

Dark Messiah Might and Magic Elements would be my choice. It’s such a fun, stupid time and I absolutely love it.

I find the whole situation hilarious. Sony comes out and makes what most people would call a boneheaded move and shuts down a studio renowned for their ability to create amazing remakes. As we have seen in the last several years there is a huge market for remakes and PlayStation fans are constantly begging for a Bloodborne remake. Bluepoint apparently didn’t want to work on remakes anymore but that is certainly better than being shut down. Then along comes Microsoft and says hold my beer. We’ve got a brand new person that will be leading the gaming division and she knows a thing or two about AI. It’s all just insane and both companies look worse because of it

Started playing this on Gamepass and ended up picking up a physical copy on Amazon for $23. One of my favorite games of this generation and might even move into my top 10 of all time. I love that sense of dread and anxiety it gives just by not knowing what’s around the next corner
