I have been waiting for this as I don't have a pc powerful enough to run it and my internet isn't fast enough for Geforce Now. Little bit disappointed that there are no previews, no price, how does late game run. Makes it feel like a bit of an after thought which is unfortunate. Also a bit disappointed that there is supposedly no keyboard and mouse support. Would be great for this type of game but on the flip side I am excited to check it out, roll on tomorrow.
Can't wait for this, I'll be there day one! Loved playing through on my 3ds years back, ready to go again. Hopefully will be a play anywhere title too.
As much as I am all for games being made available to as many people as possible, I'd imagine given the current state of Xbox cloud quality it would look like utter pants on my 65inch G4 OLED. I really enjoy using Geforce Now, hoping Xbox can catch up with quality.
@FarmDog08 apologies, you are correct, it is Tuesday! Great that it's sooner but it's half term here in the UK so wife and kids off school, unfortunate timing 😂
Really excited for this one, skimmed over a few reviews yesterday to get the gist of it. Visually it looks stunning and as mentioned above, I for one am glad the areas are somewhat more contained rather than another bloated open world outing. Bring on next Thursday!
@Stamnoso totally agree, nothing has clicked for me in the same way since X and I don't feel like the newer Devil May Cry combat is appealing to me at all!
Haha no way, a fellow White Mage! Yeah excessive stone attack but it's strangely enjoyable. Yeah I agree, I fancied being support rather than lead on the attacks. Still an important role though!
Yeah I'm leaning towards paying up to get a fuller experience too, as a fellow UK resident, I don't mind paying for something I enjoy and I can see myself sticking with this for a while, apparently the story after ARR really takes off so excited for that. Enjoying listening to the music too on YouTube, epic.
@Stamnoso Agreed, I loved all the final fantasy games but after X nothing has really clicked with me like the older titles did. This definitely has though. Ahhh I don't think I've unlocked the sightseeing log yet. I would be all over that though, sometimes I like to pause and soak it up.
I'm playing as a conjurer, which in retrospect playing solo means I'm casting a lot of the same attack but for some reason I really want to become a white mage. How's about you? Are you on the free trail for it?
@Stamnoso yes! I am about 15 hours into it and really hooked, love the music and the world building. Also play on my steam deck through xcloud to knock out some quests. Definitely feel like I will really get stuck into it properly over Xmas, game is a beast!
@deadmaker ironically I only learned the word 海賊 for pirate playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 in Japanese this week, didn't know it would come in handy already 😂
Age of Mythology for me. Put about 5 hours in so far but it's been a blast, still getting used to the differences with AoE2 as a first time player but I am enjoying the quick gameplay and fun that comes with it.
I really enjoyed it and put a good 80 hours into, I loved the music and the gunplay was very polished for a Bethesda title. I still boot it up every now and again just to walk around on a random planet. It's a shame they didn't quite hit the mark with some design choices and mechanics and the amount of load screens is an issue too.
Been waiting for this, will hook up the keyboard and mouse and get stuck into it tonight. Never played this before but really loved the recent Age of games on Xbox so hoping this one hits the spot too.
Really can't wait for this one, I love RTS games and AoE2 reignited my love for the genre, 4 was also awesome so I'm on count down for this one.
Frustrated with the early access BS again though, not a big deal as always willing to wait but it does leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth so to speak.
This weekend I will carry on with Age of Empires 2, I've been playing on easy and more of a chill game with skirmish and just enjoying building my economy and massive army's to toy with the opposition.
Thanks for this write up, it wasn't even on my radar before but I think this is the year that I take the plunge. I'm also grateful for the fact you mentioned the keyboard and mouse support as it's my preferred way to play and always hooked up (curse you Age of Empires!!) to my console.
I'll be picking this up for sure, thanks to the console releases AoE2 & 4 I have really gotten back into a genre I hadn't touched since Red Alert back in the day so I will gladly support more of this type of game coming to console.
