@Residentsteven Then what are you playing while waiting for the next uncharted or Last of us on Playstation? 3rd party games, i guess? Why would Xbox gamers get bored when they can play the tsunami of 3rd party releases coming out just the same as on Ps!

@Fiendish-Beaver MS is betting on the fact that people have made their choice already and nothing they can release could bring Ps gamers to move to Xbox now…and I tend to agree. Same goes for Ps. I don’t see Ps grabbing shares off of Xbox player base, its just the same 120M Ps users upgrading. I think most of the lost sales on the xbox side comes from their users moving to Pc, which is the obvious choice if you want to play both Ps and Xbox games.

@tho_mi it’s so easy for them to sh*t on Xbox over anything to get awareness on their game and make more sales…then they’ll release the game 8 months later, no one is gonna buy it on Xbox and they’ll come out and say « see, games don’t sell on Xbox». Maybe it’s their incompetence, maybe the certification process is a pain in the neck, maybe a bit of both…but they shouldn’t pretend they care for Xbox gamers, as they almost cancel the game on the platform and now they delay it indefinitely, showing their priority. Games are being released on Xbox, showing it’s not impossible to do so.

have they forgotten that the idea of having a platform is to take a cut on every 3rd party content and make first party as incentive to bring people on said platform? How many copies of Indiana Jones do you need to sell on Ps5 to make up for all the loss of not selling consoles? They won’t subscribe to Gamepass on PlayStation, they won’t spend money on your store…

What’s sad is that they were RiGHT THERE on the edge of having an overwhelming amount of content that had the potential of bringing people in, as long as they were exclusive. It’s sad they gave up on competition.

Though you skip what doesn’t fit your narrative. Hellblade 2, Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones for new releases…but you’re missing Fallout 76/Elder Scrolls online/Diablo 4/WOW and Starfield expansion, new content and seasons for Sea of thieves, halo, Minecraft, forza Motorsport and Horizon, COD modern warfare, warzone…and so on. The industry has changed, and it’s as important to be successful in GaaS then having new releases.

I see you’re a fan of sacred symbols and Colin Moriarty! Xbox gamers aren’t « trained » not to buy games! It’s just that across all of the big AAA releases + our favorite live service games + Gamepass, Xbox gamers don’t have TIME to play anything else, hence why they don’t buy as much games A La Carte…why would Xbox train people not to buy games anyway?!

Great…HiFi 2 and Dishonored 3 are dead so we can pay more and only get a Frigging CoD every year? And if I unsubscribe, who’s gonna pay the price, Ninja Theory, double fine and Compulsion? I was able to defend Xbox before, but now it’s impossible…

I think 15h is the sweet spot for most games or the main campaign of open worlds. But I’m all in for a tight 8h of pure immersion!

The guy went from an artist in a little indie studio to a multimillionaire…he just left to have a good time with that money! No conspiracy, or Xbox has mismanagement issues or any of that…

It can be a good way to sell an Xbox to the Ps audience who doesn’t want a second home console but could be interested in a handheld.

@VoidPunk just an example of the critics bias « The wasteland that has been the Xbox release schedules for the last few years limits the accolades we can give the game but it’s a breath of fresh air for Xbox gamers » then giving it 8/10…this is ridiculous! Are you reviewing the game or the platform?

Then, 1st party would certainly support cross gen for a good 2 years after launch…all the games they announced would still launch on the series consoles ( Fable, State of decay 3, Perfect dark, etc)

There’s a market for those who want a more powerful system every 5-6 years. In my opinion, it’s much better then having a mid gen every 4 years…but that’s just me.

You want to win the next gen Xbox? Launch it in 2025 alongside a certain GTA VI…you grab every early adopters and you leapfrog Sony for a good 2 years while they are stuck with their pro model. On top of that, you release Gears 6, Forza horizon 6 and Fable the same fall!

Of course Xbox isn’t gonna try a winning formula!

I think Towerborne will be the surprise and release after the direct, Ara is coming in march and dated, Hellblade in may and dated, Avowed slated for Q3 no date but probably around September and Indy is Q4 no date. You add Stalker somewhere, Flight Sim, COD in November, Activision back catalog, and you have quite a year! For 2025, Clockwork revolution, south of midnight, Fable, Forza horizon 6 and Gears 6? Oof! We’ll be eating good ! Tell me again which console has no games?!

I would love to see Xbox showing up big with tons of announcements « you all think we don’t have games and not good enough to be nominated ? » and you drop a gameplay trailer for Indiana Jones, Perfect Dark, Fable and a teaser for Dishonored 3, Doom year 0 and Odyssey from Blizzard…baldur’s gate 3 in Game pass tonight… that kind of energy!

@Dan1283 if the series S was holding back the X, there would be no 60fps mode on the X, right?

@IOI But then, they would lose many ultimate subs, as no one would stay ultimate just for EA play and cloud.
