Re: Review: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (Xbox) - Bioware Is Back On Form With An Inquisition-Besting Banger

Bluerangervegeta

Can't help but notice that any comment pointing out that this review is eerily similar to over half the other reviews posted to metacritic - complete with several phrases like "return to form" repeated throughout each of these reviews - is being deleted within minutes of being posted. Very classy Purexbox.

Combine that with the absolutely horrendous cutscenes making their way around social media, and it's obvious there's some form of collusion going on here.

Wonder how long before the shills on this site delete my comment too? Can't have users pointing this stuff out to other wayward sheeple can we?

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With May 2023's Xbox Games With Gold?

Bluerangervegeta

@GiveMeMoney If they do that I suspect all of our GwG collections will be gone for good. Those games are contingent on having an active Gold membership. I do have a few that I still play through/intend to play like Resident Evil and Dead Rising. I might be willing to trade them for free online multiplayer, but if they aren't gonna do that they REALLY need to make GwG worthwhile.

I would be happy except I already bought Star Wars Racer.

Re: Best FPS Games On Xbox Game Pass

Skip Wolfenstein 2. My complaints about Wolfenstein's pro Nazi leanings aside, Wolfenstein 2 is a failure in design. The difficulty curve is ridiculously scattered all over the place, ensuring nobody will have a good time with a reasonable challenge. T

he game also runs into frequent graphical glitches and insanely long loadtimes on older Xbox Ones, although to be fair these issues disappeared when I tried the game on Series X.

"more Nazis to batter to a pulp than you could ever wish for - something that feels even better than usual given the current rise in popularity of some of their idiotic ways of thinking."

No sir, you dont get to make a baseless statement like that without providing context or getting called out. Exactly where is this current rise in popularity of Nazi ideals?

Besides, if anything Wolfenstein is pro Nazi propoganda. They show a world where the survivors live in a clean, technologically advanced environment and mankind has already colonized not just the Moon but Venus. The implication being that Nazi ideals work for mankind. Horrifying.... But maybe not something I would expect to be caught by a Twitter banned alarmnist.

Oh, and Deathloop sucks. The graphics are great but the complete lack of checkpoints coupled with the fact that your new game can be invaded by some maxed out superplayer results in a game that has absolutely no respect for a players time or the repetitiveness of grinding out the same missions in the same locales constantly.

Re: 'DOOM 4' Early Gameplay Shows Very Different Take On The Series

Bluerangervegeta

Surprised for all the love Doom 3 gets here. I think it could me modded and tweaked into something worthwhile but as it stands the current release kinda sucks. Nerfed shotgun, crappy versions of the Doom enemies (they look fine in still artwork I guess), pretty bland story, and crappy survival horror mechanics.

I loved it when it first came out but it really hasn't aged well. Loved Doom 2016 to death though.

Re: Microsoft Rewards: How To Complete March 2023's 'Powerful Women Of Game Pass' Punch Card

Bluerangervegeta

@theduckofdeath Nope. Forget that they are a billion dollar company to whom this is a drop in the ocean, and forget that most people will need to buy a GPU subscription to even have a chance at a lot of these. Tons of people just use points to get discounted games (games they may not have bought otherwise). Plenty of people also donate their points, which helps Microsoft as a tax write-off (something they would do anyways even without the points program so it literally costs them nothing). Plus it's free publicity and greatly increases engagement with the Bing/Xbox ecosystem. And only the most hardcore (us) really come close to using this program to it's full potential; plenty of people don't complete every quest. Finally plenty of people buy stuff they wouldn't otherwise just to get those "buy $50 of movies to get 5000 bonus points" they offer, or buy something digitally because they get points back for the purchase

Even if you are right and the rewards program doesn't generate profit (and who knows for sure one way or the other) it's still valuable for the goodwill it provides to the fanbase. And everytime somebody posts a weekly/monthly quest guide to a craphole like reddit or a site like true achievements that's free advertising for GPU and potentially more subscribers, while encouraging others to play games they wouldn't otherwise and thereby increasing reliance on GPU for gaming.

So no, MS by no means has to devalue the program. As I said before, this program is a huge part of why I play Xbox over Switch or Steam but if they devalue it anymore then it really won't be worth my time and I will no longer feel pressured to turn on the Xbox every day. That means less time in the Xbox store, more time on the Switch eShop. I am certain I am not alone in this.

Re: Gallery: Xbox Japan Website Shows New Screenshots Of Sonic Origins

Bluerangervegeta

@Banjo- I literally just bought Sonic 2 with 3D enhancements on 3DS a few days ago. And I just saw it come up as "recommended" in the Windows store for Xbox. And it's in plenty of collections

In B4 "durr hurr it's a remaster not a port becuz raisons". From what I am seeing you may be able to make that argument with Sonic 1, but not Sonic 2/3 and CD. And even then I would consider it more rom hack than remaster.

Hopefully I am wrong but this does look pricey for what it is. Why can't they include the Game Gear games or Knuckles Chaotic?

Re: Ori Director Reveals Why His Next Game Won't Be Published By Xbox

Bluerangervegeta

@Murray This is Thomas Mahler. I would VERY much bet he takes the money and goes exclusive. I mean he halfway did with Ori, with the 4K HDR version exclude to Xbox.

And using his argument why stop there? What about mobile players? What about Mac? What about N-Gage owners?

And using Minecraft as a false equivalency is extremely disingenuous of him. He knows damn well the myriad of reasons why something like Minecraft made it to Sony platforms while Ori didnt.

Guy sounds more like a troll than a CEO. You would expect more intelligence from a guy running a company.
