Re: Talking Point: Which Is The Most Underrated Xbox Console To Date?

russbeer

I don't think any of them are under rated, but if I was to choose one, it'd be the OG Xbox. Just due to the dominance of the PS2 and Wii at the time it was overlooked by many. The original controller was also too big for anything other than adult male hands so it wasn't a great fit for kids or lady gamers (unless they've got man hands)
I think a lot of people went for the PS2 partly because of DVD playback as well (DVD players were expensive when it came out) if MS had included that, it would have made a big difference rather than having to buy the dongle attachment to go with it.

@Gamer83 Do you tend to buy multi-platform games for the xbox? What makes you decide that way? More friends with xboxes? I find the only real difference between the two is the ps5 pad. Its a lot better than the xsx one... the adaptive triggers are gamechangers and the touchpad is great too.

@StylesT Which ones? If you look at most top 100 games of the last 10 years, there's hardly any xbox exclusives in it. I've owned both Sony and MS systems since the original xbox was released and am no fan of either in particular but the Playstation exclusives tend to live up to their hype more than the xbox ones imo. God of War, Uncharted series, Last of us 1 and 2, Days Gone, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon... all spectacular games. Death Stranding, Detroit become human, Gravity Rush, Little Big Planet, Persona series... all very well reviewed and loved (just not by me) but as far as Xbox exclusives go, I can only think of Gears, Forza Horizon and Halo series. I enjoyed Quantum Break and I know Sea of Thieves has its fans, but there are a lot more quality exclusives on the Sony console

Anyone saying Horizon isn't as good as touted is simply wrong. Opinions obviously vary but to say it's not great is just incorrect.

I'll be getting Dying Light but not sure is it'll be on xsx or ps5... waiting to see how it uses the PS5 controller as thats the only difference between the 2 systems but it's a big difference and microsoft have missed a trick there. I'll be getting Horizon Forbidden West as well.

@InterceptorAlpha You know that like most new items, the majority of those sold will be to scalpers for resale. Not many people outside of the serious collectors will be holding a significant amount of carts like you, the success of something like this would only drive up the prices of carts, the desirable games are already silly prices.

Looks good and sounds good. I think this is the kind of small developer game that Gamepass was made for... similar to the likes of Remnant I think it'll have 3-6mths of retail sales before heading to Gamepass to find a bigger audience. There's plenty of AAA stuff due in the next few months to keep me busy til then.

Re: Random: Team Xbox Wants To Know The First Xbox Game You Ever Played

I played Halo on a kiosk in my local games shop on my dinner hour and was blown away. I went back and played it for 3 or 4 days in a row before buying my first OG Xbox from there on payday that week. Owned an xbox every day ever since. It was a while though before I was wowed again... I had a Dreamcast at the time and the games for that were on par or superior to the xbox ones in and around the launch year
