Re: Halo Studios Makes A Point Of Highlighting 'Physical Discs' For Campaign Evolved

If i have to connect to the internet then they're missing a key point of physical medium as a delivery channel. Not everyone has access to uncapped high speed internet. Not saying a key disc is worse than digital since you can at least resell it, but I'm not okay with them saying "We support physical" when they're just releasing a license. Idk why so many people think we can't have multiple discs. It's literally been a thing since discs became the primary media over cartridges. As game sizes balloon, physcial discs make even more sense because the hdd/ssd in the console have failed to be sufficient to hold more than a few games. If a console wants to be a closed ecosystem then we need control over the data or a way to make offline backups.I wish xbox would pull a reverse card on PS and go all in on physical. PS has handed them a golden opportunity but I feel like they'll just squabble it like everything over the last decade

@MinervaX76 I have to imagine the amount of people buying entire systems for a single series is very low. If most people just bought all the systems then why do people clamor for exclusives? I'm sure Bayonetta pulled a few people but I honestly cant think of too many others and if it worked we'd see it more often. Not saying it wouldn't ever work but I would think it much more likely that people would just wait to see if it's a timed exclusive, play it on pc, buy a month of gamepass and then never touch it again then going and buying another console - particular with Xbox's whiplash and the insane prices on consoles right now.

Re: Xbox CSO Says Console Demand Is Outstripping Supply Amidst A 'Crisis' For Component Prices

And this is why I think a 2027 launch is ridiculous. They either have to scale down their ambition so much that the jump won't be worth it or it'll be so expensive that only the current people invested in Xbox will consider it. Console prices are already so high with their current product and they've had to do massive price increases even at their scale. Rushing helix would be another short term gain for long term problems - see overpaying for studios, raising gamepass prices, etc.

Of course they pulled this last minute and trying to cover it up is deceitful. They could literally say "look we saw the feedback and are responding accordingly" even if it had nothing to do with it and they look great. Why release the remake of the 1st game to pull people into the franchise on ps5 then not release your pretty new game as a followup - makes zero sense. I just wish xbox would actually do physical releases even if it takes 3 install discs. All these great games and a move back to worthwhile exclusives and my excitement is cut off at the knees knowing it'll just be a glorified download code. The only thing I liked about ps5 releases was thinking the 100gb discs would alleviate this but even that only happened in a couple cases.

Re: More Than 50% Of Hardcore Gamers Don't Buy Full-Priced Games Anymore, Survey Finds

the only reason I buy day 1 is for collectors editions as they'll obviously sell out and cost triple if I wait a few years to buy them. FOMO for the younger crowd is getting out of hand. When I was younger used games were the only ones I was getting. No way I was getting one game over 3 regardless of what it was. I've literally had people tell me that the "social event" of buying a new game was important to them. Like what? lol. A good game will always be a good game whether it came out yesterday or 30 years ago.

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Pick 'Quality' Over 'Performance' Modes On Xbox Series X|S?

dePaige22

A smooth 30 is good especially with a finely tined motion blur, but 60 is definitely worth the small drop in quality/resolution in almost all cases for me. Sure screenshots will look prettier in quality mode but when your playing a game you won't notice small differences. The key here though is that some people like it one way and others like it the oppsite way. As the player, WE should get an option to choose regardless for all games. Me personally, I'm always going the 60 fps option unless the frame rate is all over the place or the drop in quality is literally distracting. As for 120fps, the drop in quality is too extreme on the current consoles to be worth it imo.
