Re: Starfield Has Possibly The Best Single-Player Narrative Of All Time, Says God Of War Director

This game definitely has some redeeming qualities, but narrative is so not one of them. Bethesda never was good with narrative in their games, but, man, this is the new low. It's probably the worst narrative in the last years if you skip Redfall.
Bland, boring, lifeless characters, meaningless story that goes nowhere and ends with nothing. Effortless DLC that says nothing and means the same in the game world as a whole.
The game's beautiful, that's true. I spent almost 90 hours there doing... something, I can't even tell. So it wasn't that bad.
But it's a junk food. You shouldn't indulge in that, it's bad for your health.

Re: CoD Leaker Doubles Down On Belief That Xbox's Next Console Will Arrive In 2026

I mean, with all these leaks - they certainly may THINK or HOPE to release it in 2026 with CoD on release. But modern companies can't even release one game in time without delays, much less a console AND a game.
Halo Infinite should've been a launch title for Xbox Series that defines the whole generation, but was released one year after and now rests in peace.

Re: South Of Midnight Game Length & Xbox Tech Specs Revealed

Game looks interesting as a whole. But this stop motion animation... If you can turn it off it means developers know that their "feature" is highly controversial. But then again you can't turn it off in cutscenes, which probably means turning it off was a last minute call after that gameplay demo on Xbox conference - they just didn't have time and resources to remake all the cutscenes.
So working on this "feature" doesn't seem like a time well spent. And there was no one who could tell them that's a bad idea?

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Popular Xbox Franchise You've Struggled To Get Into?

Definitely Halo. I bought Series S on release and started to delve into Game Pass. Gears was a masterpiece, all of them, love them all.
Halo, on the other hand, was unbearable. I managed to play till the third one, but dropped it. It was so silly 11-year old power fantasy with annoying gunplay and sterile level design, I couldn't bear it anymore. CGI cutscenes in Halo 2 Anniversary were top-notch, though, absolutely amazing work even now.
On the other hand, Halo Infinite was pretty fun in multiplayer. Never tried to play its story mode.

Re: Talking Point: What Convinced You To Pick Xbox In The First Place?

I started with Series S. I was a happy PS4 owner back then in 2020 and I was definitely inclined to buy PS5, obviously, nothing to discuss there.
But then they actually presented the console. And the games. So I said to myself: "Yeah... thanks for all the fish".
I bought myself Series S day one. It was a great console through and through. Generations ahead of PS4 (even PS5 for that matter) in terms of social interactions and QoL.
Gave it away this year, so now I'm back on my PS4.
