The game looks much like The Cycle from Yager. And it apparently just rips off Apex Legends with weird aesthetic choices. And it's a paid title with battlepasses and in-game shop. And it's an extraction shooter every major company tried to do and failed miserably. So I'd say dead on arrival.
This year I've only finished Redfall, Eternal Strands, Celeste and South of Midnight, and they all were extremely dull, so no best game so far. Celeste was a good game, though, but not my cup of tea.
What Is The Name Of The Next Xbox Console? We don't know yet. What Has Xbox Said About A New Console So Far? Pretty much nothing. Are There Any Rumours About The Next Xbox Console? Tons of them, they're all bunk. Is Steam Coming To The Next Xbox Console? We don't know yet. Is The New Xbox Console Coming Out In 2027? We don't know yet. What Kind Of Price Will The Next Xbox Console Be? We don't know yet.
My expectations are low, but I'll try it via Game Pass. Stop-go animation looks like an incredibly bad idea. Wouldn't care about reviews, though. They're usually a total crap.
This game definitely has some redeeming qualities, but narrative is so not one of them. Bethesda never was good with narrative in their games, but, man, this is the new low. It's probably the worst narrative in the last years if you skip Redfall. Bland, boring, lifeless characters, meaningless story that goes nowhere and ends with nothing. Effortless DLC that says nothing and means the same in the game world as a whole. The game's beautiful, that's true. I spent almost 90 hours there doing... something, I can't even tell. So it wasn't that bad. But it's a junk food. You shouldn't indulge in that, it's bad for your health.
I mean, with all these leaks - they certainly may THINK or HOPE to release it in 2026 with CoD on release. But modern companies can't even release one game in time without delays, much less a console AND a game. Halo Infinite should've been a launch title for Xbox Series that defines the whole generation, but was released one year after and now rests in peace.
Game looks interesting as a whole. But this stop motion animation... If you can turn it off it means developers know that their "feature" is highly controversial. But then again you can't turn it off in cutscenes, which probably means turning it off was a last minute call after that gameplay demo on Xbox conference - they just didn't have time and resources to remake all the cutscenes.
So working on this "feature" doesn't seem like a time well spent. And there was no one who could tell them that's a bad idea?
Definitely Halo. I bought Series S on release and started to delve into Game Pass. Gears was a masterpiece, all of them, love them all. Halo, on the other hand, was unbearable. I managed to play till the third one, but dropped it. It was so silly 11-year old power fantasy with annoying gunplay and sterile level design, I couldn't bear it anymore. CGI cutscenes in Halo 2 Anniversary were top-notch, though, absolutely amazing work even now. On the other hand, Halo Infinite was pretty fun in multiplayer. Never tried to play its story mode.
It's hard to be enthusiastic about Xbox these days. Gears 6 is a must, nobody cares about new CoD, we all know the release date, the content, CoD is business as usual. Marcus Phoenix Collection is another must. Gameplay trailers with release dates for all those projects from studios bought in 2018 and 2019. Xbox has to try really hard to restore confidence of fans.
I started with Series S. I was a happy PS4 owner back then in 2020 and I was definitely inclined to buy PS5, obviously, nothing to discuss there. But then they actually presented the console. And the games. So I said to myself: "Yeah... thanks for all the fish". I bought myself Series S day one. It was a great console through and through. Generations ahead of PS4 (even PS5 for that matter) in terms of social interactions and QoL. Gave it away this year, so now I'm back on my PS4.

Re: Drug Dealer Simulator Set For Xbox Release After Controversial Week
Why would a normal person buy and play Drug Dealer Simulator? I don't think big digital platforms should allow such games to be released.
Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (April 15)
I don't know, Rockstar kinda lost me after San Andreas. I don't see the appeal.
Re: Bethesda's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Will Reportedly Shadow Drop Next Week
@RentedPanda My sources tell that we should expect it to be bundled with Half-Life 3 console-first release.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 12-13)
Already finished South of Midnight. My expectations were low, and Sweet Baby Inc.: The Game was up to them.
Absolutely amazing soundtrack, though.

Re: OG Xbox Creator Shares His Thoughts On The State Of The Brand In 2025
This guy once said: "We at Xbox have strong policy of underpromising and overdelivering".
Xbox team nowadays has a thing or two to learn from him.

@Lup Actually, it's a pretty good game. Can't say for coop aspect, but story was more or less solid.
Re: These Six Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (March 4-18)
Looks pretty bleak. More like some Fanatical indie bundle you spend $10 on.

Holy Molly, I can't believe it.

Anthem once again. Same belief in some "Bioware magic", "trust me, it's gonna work" and all that.
Re: Destiny 2: The Final Shape Servers Collapse Under Increased Traffic
Tons of people still play Destiny 2. Poor souls.
This is why we can't have nice things.
