It was middle of the road but you have to remember that this a showcase for indie developers, you're not going to expect some crazy big announcements. I think it's cool to provide a platform for indie developers even if I don't care for most games shown.

The original Xbox for sure. Wide variety of games and if you use component cables the console still outputs at a great resolution. I'm not the biggest fan of going back to 360/PS3. That era was all about graphics and the framerate took a hit because of it, so many stuttering games and so many games that use the brown post-apocalyptic desaturation that makes games look gross IMO.
I wouldn't say all of the ones below are from their exact launch day but I'd say at least around launch:
Nintendo GameCube (a few months after): Yeah it was worth it but when I got an Xbox in 2003 my GameCube was mainly used for Smash Bros, Wario Ware and Mario Party.
Xbox 360 (two months after): Not really, at least early on. I was actually pretty disappointed when I got my 360 early on. People will argue with me, but I've always felt that was the weakest generation of gaming.
Nintendo Wii (a few weeks after): Yes, one of the most underrated consoles of all time.
Nintendo DS (launch day): Yes and no. Launch titles weren't great but it was a great console.
Nintendo Wii U (launch day): Yes for me but I can see how it wasn't worth it for others.
PS4 (a few weeks after launch): Not really, launch games sucked and I've never been the biggest PlayStation fan.
Nintendo Switch (two months later): Yes, because of Mario Kart and Zelda but until Mario Odyssey and that fall lineup came out it was a barren wasteland. The summer of 2017 was ROUGH for the Switch.
Xbox Series X (a few weeks after launch): Yes, it allowed me to play plenty of BC games that I missed the previous two gens plus emulation, Game Pass and quick resume sweetened the deal. IMO the second most underrated console of all time.
@IronCrow86 Exactly why I love mine: current gen games, great backwards compatibility, emulation, favorite controller, streaming apps, quick resume, 4k player, Spotify over every game, Game Pass...
Only other system I use is my ROG Ally Z1 Extreme and I mainly use it for Xbox Play Anywhere, remote play and emulation.
@themightyant @Kezelpaso Yep, exactly. It definitely is an industry-wide issue, it isn't just live service games. I wish the developers the best, it's definitely tough out there to get hired AND stay on at a company these days.
People will probably argue with me on this, but I absolutely hate these live service trends we're seeing in gaming. It starts with hiring a bunch of people and ends with laying off a bunch of people because there's less engagement. It's disgusting.
I still remember when I was planning on getting my Xbox (I was out of town when my sister told me her roommate was willing to sell me his). I immediately ran to the store and got the latest Xbox Magazine to peruse through OVER and OVER again until we got home a week or so later. It was the one with Starcraft Ghost on the cover (never came out) and it came with the Mace Griffin cover demo disc. So much dang nostalgia.

I really hope it's an Xbox Play Anywhere game. It is the perfect game to play on console and on the go.
