Poll: How Would You Grade The ID@Xbox April 2026 Showcase?

I rate it... oops, Vampire Crawlers! Forgot!

It was middle of the road but you have to remember that this a showcase for indie developers, you're not going to expect some crazy big announcements. I think it's cool to provide a platform for indie developers even if I don't care for most games shown.

A few days ago, I said:

The recent Triple-I Showcase was a bit of a letdown for me personally. Way too many of the games shown off in that were survival and/or cozy games and while I do like a game in that vein every now and then, generally they're not the sorts of games I play. An ID@Xbox showcase tends to be more console oriented, so hopefully a bigger chunk of what they show off will align with my tastes, or at least have a greater variety of genres.

This showcase was exactly what I hoped. Games from a wide variety of genres; a lot of which looked really cool and some new trailers for games I've had my eye on for a while.

Not everything shown aligned with my tastes: basically anything multiplayer oriented - it's an even bigger turn-off when the trailer has a voiceover of "gamers" "having fun" while "playing" - isn't for me. But overall, a great showcase with a lot of games from different genres with different tones and aesthetics. As far as indie game showcases go, I can't ask for more than that.

It was pretty cringe. I’d say it was a C-. There were a lot of interesting games, but hardly any for me. And all of them honestly looked the same graphically. The only game that appealed to me was the first game about the ghosts.

Great mix of games some I really liked the look of. Things are looking bright for Xbox this week

Almost every game looked like some sort of cozy dungeon-crawler party-game thing for children. Where are all the dark, gritty and mature indies? Vapor World looks awesome 👌🏻
