Loved it for the first 6 months but now I've played everything I wanted, I only really keep paying as you can get your money back with Microsoft points.
There hasn't really been anything I'm interested since Hi Fi Rush several months ago.
I have no idea whether the deal will go through at this stage.
Personally, I'd prefer it if Microsoft spent its money getting certain games on xbox gamepass from other developers.
I'd probably buy the Call of Duty games whatever but its nice to have a steady stream of games that I wouldn't buy without a huge sale but would like to try out.
Microsoft have done well in the past with games like Shredder's Revenge, Tetris, Streets of rage 4, Hotwheels but the past few months, games I like do seem to have been drying up slightly.
Not tracking again. I have currently played most of the games I wanted to on gamepass and only keep it because I can earn my money back in points.
The auto redeem failed this month too, loosing me another 350 points.
At the moment it's becoming too much hassle with so many points not being awarded. I am seriously considering just getting gamepass once in a while when a decent game comes out rather than paying every month.
It's a constant stream of high quality games that get people to purchase gamepass but it's difficult to establish exactly what games are getting people to subscribe.
Just like with tv online services, game subscriptions are probably the future but equally so, actual purchases will suffer.
I think it's probably a case of Microsoft having to lower their expectations.
Before this came out, I was thinking it can't be more than a third of the price of gamepass to get many subscribers.
It's possible some may opt for this package for a single month every so often when a new game comes out but this isn't the way to get a decent subscriber base.
I know it's not going to happen but I'd love a remake of Virtua Cop if Sega could figure out how to get a light gun peripheral to work with modern tvs.
A decent fast external ssd will give 4tb of space for the same cost as the 1tb expansion card.
It only takes a minute or two to transfer games to and from the internal drive when you want to play them and xbox one games can be played straight from the ssd.
I don't see why anyone would pay almost the cost of the xbox itself to buy a 2tb drive. You might aswell buy a digital ps5 and keep some games on that.
I'd love to try a mouse and keyboard on call of duty as I hear aiming is far easier but as the matchmaking allows us control users to play separately, I haven't bothered yet.
Recently bought an elite 2 controller which broke just after 30 day return window. If it had broken earlier I probably would have swapped to keyboard rather than getting it repaired.
I hope they keep supporting the mw2 multiplayer as I can't stand Warzone.
This is my first fps game since Quake as a kid and haven't had a single kill in Warzone yet. Always the same story. Wait for the game to load, run around the map for 5 minutes trying to be as stealthy as I can then get shot by someone I didn't even see.
I had hoped that after a few games, some sort of skill based match making would kick in but it either doesn't work or there isn't a level low enough for me.
@Bucky Thanks. Does this mean you have to remap the buttons used for all games and then go back and change them back again when you want to play something else.
Not a lot of difference control wise between the pro controller and joycons. Just more comfortable with the pro. The issue is the switch doesn't use dual stick controls. You just hold down a button to strafe. To be fair, I only played it for 15 minutes or so on my grandsons switch as I don't have expansion pack anymore myself.
It may be that it's possible to get used to them with time but it feels no where near as natural as the xbox version.
I don't own an N64 controller and the controls with the joycons and Pro controller make it almost unplayable. The Xbox version certainly doesn't feel modern but feels way better.
Yes the switch allows you to play online but only against friends.
The switch visuals while slightly worse didn't bother me. It's just the controls.
I hope that the single player is properly optimised in Redfall. There are so many games like world war z where the AI was so bad that it was almost unplayable without others.

Re: Poll: How High Are Your Expectations For Sunday's Xbox Showcase?
I don't want to hear about 2024 releases as we won't really see them until 2026.
I will be happier if we get some new shadow drops on Gamepass as nothing has been of interest to me since Hifi Rush.
Would love to see a short term release date for Motorsport 8 and Silksong.
Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Game In May?
I haven't liked any additions to Gamepass since Hifi Rush and Hotwheels.
Hopefully something decent will be added during the presentation. If not, I may have to cancel.
Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In June 2023
I thought 2023 was going to be the big year for Xbox.
Re: How To Complete All Xbox Game Pass Quests In 2023
I've given up with quests and punchcards. There's been so many recently where they don't register and I don't get my points.

Re: Talking Point: Have You Tried Ubisoft Plus On Xbox Yet?
I subscribe one month every so often when a really good new game comes out but at that price they won't attract many regular monthly subscribers

Re: The Full List Of New Xbox Games Releasing In May 2023
I own Grindstone on Switch. Probably my favourite puzzle game of all time.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Leave Xbox Game Pass If Microsoft Removed Its Exclusives?
I can't say I play that many exclusives at the moment having completed Forza and Halo.
I stay subscribed as I can earn my money back through points and there is a steady stream of games that I wouldn't have bought but now get to try out

Re: Patent For New Xbox Controller With A Touchscreen Surfaces Online
@JayJ Thanks, I will look into the Aim controller. I had never heard of it before but after a quick look, I see they offer lifetime guarantees.
While I haven't used a Scuf controller, I read that they were just as unreliable as the elite 2.
Re: Patent For New Xbox Controller With A Touchscreen Surfaces Online
I just want a company to design a reliable controller with well placed paddles.
I love how the elite 2 feels when it works but I've got 2 xbox controllers with faulty face buttons and Microsofts repair service is a joke.
Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Use Mouse & Keyboard Controls On Xbox?

Re: Poll: Have You Tried 'Guilty Gear Strive' On Xbox Game Pass?
I gave it 6/10 although I probably haven't given it enough of a chance yet.
During the hour or so I have played I didn't see anything that improves on all the other fighting games out there.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of 'Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty' On Xbox Game Pass?
Haven't seen anything to drag me away from Elden Ring yet although I haven't really given it a fair try.
Will probably have another go at it when I've finished Elden Ring.
Re: All New Xbox Games Coming Out In March 2023
I thought Sifu was coming to Xbox in March.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Hot Wheels Unleashed On Xbox Game Pass?
I've never played a Hot Wheels game before but am really enjoying it.
A very fun arcade style racer with a good sense of speed, great drifting mechanic and gorgeous visuals.
What's not to like.

I hope that the single player is properly optimised in Redfall. There are so many games like world war z where the AI was so bad that it was almost unplayable without others.
Re: Reaction: Xbox Needs A New, Reliable Competitor For PS5's 'DualSense Edge'
All the Elite 3 needs is far better quality control. I love the Elite 2 Controller but it's too unreliable.
While stores may allow returns within the first 30 days, any faults after this are subject to Microsofts useless and frustrating repair policy.
I found the controller too stressful to use as my mind was more on when is it going to break again rather than the actual game.
