Re: Absolum Studio Admits Xbox Release 'Wasn't A Priority' Due To Small Development Team

It’s really interesting how people lack perspective. These things happen all the time (exclusivity or platform priority).

Xbox has Warhammer Space Marine Master Crafted Edition. It’s even on Game Pass. Guess what? It’s not on PlayStation. It’s called business. Each company is going to negotiate better deals for its user base or developers will prefer certain platforms over others.

This sort of thing is annoying but perspective is important.

Just because a developer chooses to ignore Xbox doesn’t mean it’s because Xbox is bad in any way.

The problem is that Microsoft has been all over the place with its support of Xbox. There doesn’t seem to be a consistent plan in place.

Having said that, I do think Microsoft want to continue supporting Xbox. Hardware will eventually collapse but XCloud will keep the brand alive. Cloud Gaming gives Xbox the edge over its rivals because it’s the one thing that Xbox has that everyone else (barring Nvidia) can’t compete with.

Re: Xbox Ditches Majority Of Its Game Pass DLC Discounts As Part Of Service Revamp

And that's me out.

Sorry, this is unacceptable. In fact, why am I apologising? No apologies for saying this.

Microsoft have driven the service into the ground. This is the Xbox One debacle all over again. We were expected to accept the anti-consumer practices and higher price (both for hardware and for software) back then and it's come full circle to the present day.

Microsoft have shown their contempt for their consumers time and time again. Enough is enough as far as I'm concerned.

Re: 'Price Increases Are Never Fun For Anybody' Says Xbox Exec Defending Game Pass Changes

Tbf, they did a u-turn in 2021 after their attempt to double the price of Xbox Live Gold was met with severe backlash.

I'm pretty sure they've heard the feedback loud and clear and are deliberating what course of action to take.

Believe me when I tell you that it's in there interest for you to sub to the highest tier because more revenue coming in is what they want. They'd be no point to them spending a shed load of money to bring Day One Games (both first party and third party) to GPU only for no-one to play them.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

MrStark

I empathise and sympathise with people over this. I am a single man so if I really wanted to continue subbing to it I could but you guys and gals with partners and children will find it hard and I feel for you.

Hopefully, Microsoft see the outrage and reverse course. This CANNOT continue on or the brand will die out in no time.

I will be switching from Ultimate to Essential. £22.99 per month is ridiculous even for Mr Stark (joke lol).

Joke aside, if you look at the raw numbers, it costs £275.88 to pay for Ultimate annually. If you subtract the £100 you get from Rewards then it becomes £175.88 which turns out to be less than paying £14.99 per month for 12 months.

I'm not defending the price hike but just giving an alternative view. If you still want to support it, it's not the worst idea.

As I said, I will be switching to Essential (to tackle my backlog and buy games that only interest me).
