I'll be getting home Thursday afternoon and napping until about midnight, get up, get coffee, get controller charged with headphones so I don't wake the wife and play until I have to work.
@theduckofdeath funny you should say that. I just read up on them today. I'm breezing through every fight as I spent ages on the business minigame and bought a load of stuff but I'm near the end - chapter 12 I think. I'll look up the boosts anyways and see how feasible it is for me to do. I never grinded any other Yakuza game though this one is very different.
@darkswabber if it makes you feel better, as people have been playing Starfield already, the internet is awash with gentle first impressions and apparently it's smashing with little bugs. That said, as the NDA doesn't allow information, there could be another space-based RPG that is bugless as well. I'm buzzing for it.
@Fiendish-Beaver i feel the exact same way. I'm almost wishing that at some point in the future more games become games-as-a-service just so that I can finally get through my backlog! I'm returning to Yakuza 7 before Starfield. Attempted to replay Baldur's Gate 1 EE (first time since I played the original back like early 2000s) but realised that there would be no way I could get through that before Starfield and I abhor leaving a game uncompleted, especially one that is not as pick-up-and-play-friendly as BG.
@RustyStag I don't know why they haven't already added the most popular tag team in the company in either a free update or as paid DLC. Absolute bonkers, especially because they've been over for months. This isn't like Yaya Valkarie, who is new, or Statlander's return and new gimmick, there's no reason why the Acclaimed shouldn't be ready with Daddy Ass.
@Fenbops a known IP will have more sales initially than a new IP. A bad Perfect Dark game will have more engagement than a bad unknown game. Even Duke Nukem Forever sold a lot despite it being absolute dogshit. The game would have disappeared and been forgotten otherwise.
@Aeula I agree with the Outer Worlds. Very disappointing game. I called it Fallout New Vegas Lite and barely found it a challenge or fun. A lot of the game was pretty rough for me and the difficulty spikes weren't fun. Spent most of the game being stealthy and then had to brute force the final boss because I didn't have max marks in whatever it was to bypass it.
@abe_hikura Elden Ring really catapulted From Software. I was used to them being popular, but in a niche, but Elden Ring was something else entirely. I wonder how many people tapped out after experiencing their first Soulsbourne that way.
@ymo1965 this is the highest it was going to get after such a long time in development. It was either going to be middling or dogshit. This type of looter shooter has had its day and unless the gameplay was going to be amazingly innovative, it's just another skin and a few features on a game we've already sunken hundreds of hours into.
Don't get me wrong, I love looter shooters but I hate lazy ones that just reskin enemies and make them damage sponges.
@StrawberryWave I gotta disagree. I'd say the complaints are the same, if not more because it's free. If you paid full price for it, you're more likely to lump it or return it. If it's free, you can say whatever boneheaded thing you want about it.
@Phantom_Anima I was thinking the opposite actually, that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre sounds like a rehash of Dead Static Drive. It's so derivative these days.
@BrilliantBill you gave First/second party examples there. Square Enix isn't first or second party. Also, video gaming is the only medium where this happens. You don't buy a book and can't read it because you have the wrong eyes. Back when DVDs were a thing, you didn't have DVD players that only played Warner Bros games.
@Capt_T Thanks friend but if I've got spare time, I'm going to use it to either play games I want to or earn money another way rather than work towards getting five bucks off an xbox game.
I was really looking forward to this but I've only got a Series S and cost of living crisis plus strikes has me in a rut for the foreseeable. I don't know how I'm going to pay for my Game Pass Ultimate when it runs out - and that's going to be right before Starfield. And I think the stack em method of putting on 3 years of Xbox gold and upgrading it won't work anymore now that they've removed the £1 game pass deal.

@TheSimulator Made by the boys behind No Mercy. I'm delighted. It's just a shame that CM Punk is in it.
Re: Best RPGs on Xbox Game Pass
@Aeula I heard it was 20 hours long and so I expected it to be tight and compact. It was not. It was not good. A great shame.
