Microsoft treated us to the latest batch of Xbox Game Pass additions for May 2023 yesterday, which included a whole bunch of indie titles that you may never have heard of before - including the 2D action RPG, Eastern Exorcist.

This game ended up attracting a lot of attention yesterday, so we thought we'd tell you a little more about it! First released back in 2020 for PC, Eastern Exorcist currently holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam based on over 5700 user reviews, while the Metacritic rating sits at 73% - but that's only based on four professional reviews.

Here's the official description of what you can expect:

"Eastern Exorcist is a stunning 2D side-scrolling action RPG set in a fictitious eastern world with the infestation of vicious demon monsters. Play as a skilled exorcist against chaotic evil to fight your way through the brutal world, and experience unforeseen entanglements of complex beings."

The video you see above is taken from when the game was in an Early Access state, and that was followed up with a full release in July of 2021. The game has never been on Xbox before, so this is a day one Xbox Game Pass launch.

We'll remind you of Eastern Exorcist's arrival on Xbox Game Pass when it drops tomorrow, May 18th, but in the meantime you can check out that YouTube playthrough above, as well as some screenshots below.
