Re: Avowed Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (February 18)

Darylb88

@abe_hikura The main reason why it is 6pm is because digital players use the NZ trick which is technically not allowed. I do think they have gone the right way about it though by closing the loophole rather than banning players who exploited it. I think 6pm is a decent time for most in the UK who work or study. I do feel bad for those that took the day off to play the game although I would imagine someone that invested in the game would have got the early access. I got the early access on Friday at 6pm and I've really enjoyed the 20 hours or so I've played so far.

Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

Late 2026 - Early 2027. If the console has been costed all the up the chain already it's shouldn't be any more than 24 months out. The console may be shown at this years game awards in December or early next year. Getting the thing costed is quite a big chunk of the 4-6 year dev time. Now that the chosen spec has been costed, they can turn towards assembly and prototyping software UI features. Build will happen about 12 months from launch with manufacturing about 6-8 months out.

Re: Avowed Xbox Preload Now Live Ahead Of Game Pass Release

@weaponx69 Same nothing here yet. I think the Xbox servers must be having a technical issue on console because it looks like the 74GB file is there but it just won't push through and keeps installing the 300mb placeholder. I have tried installing from my phone/ uninstalling/reinstalling and restarting my Xbox but to no avail.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Buying Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?

@VoidPunk What games pre 1900 timeframe have you played that are historically accurate? And is that important to the enjoyment of a game for you? Not being salty just a genuine question I am curious about. I don't mind if games are historically accurate or not as long as long as it makes a baseline sense.

Re: Avowed's Full Performance Mode Options Detailed For Xbox Series X

Darylb88

Glad to see that the game has options for players on the Series X. I can't wait until Thursday evening! I managed to get the premium physical edition from Currys for £81. It doesn't have a disc but to get the steelbook, the A3 cloth map and other bits alongside all the digital stuff/early access was too good to turn down. The other plus point is that the game comes out at 6pm so I will likely get my delivery in time.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Buying Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?

I'm away this weekend and I'm itching to get back on it after around 20 hours played so far. The world is so dynamic and immersive. It's definitely one of those 10/10 games like an Elden Ring. I don't really like souls likes as they are more about the gameplay that the role playing or story aspect but I appreciate how well crafted they are and how many hours you need to sink into it to make it worth while. I aim to be juggling this with Avowed (which I'm very excited for) until AC Shadows drops.

Re: Avowed: Release Date, Release Times, Early Access Details For Xbox & PC

Darylb88

@Isolte I mean Microsoft is a business so of course they will do things to driver consumer spend. If this early access technique had not been financially successful they would have dropped it like a stone. I purchased the premium edition because I wanted the additional bits that come with the game alongside the early access. For those who don't want to pay as much, they can get the game a few days later alongside the other 300 odd titles on GP. Ultimately it's the individuals choice regardless of any arguments either way and we can't control that.

Re: Review: Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (Xbox) - A Brutal & Brilliant Medieval Epic, But You'll Need To Put The Time In

Darylb88

The review will certainly put a lot of potential new players off but the game is not really hard, it just requires time and effort. I usually play games on easy but when it comes to games like Like a Dragon or Dragons Dogma 2, I just put the time and effort in to improve myself so I can face the game. These games are 90+ hour time sinks though. I might struggle with KKD2 at the start but I feel like the game is worth my time due to the deep immersion. I can imagine this will be my second game alongside others over the next few months as I improve myself slowly to get the best out of the game.

Re: Xbox's Multiplatform Releases Made Microsoft The Top Game Publisher In The World Last Month

Darylb88

I look at what Sony have on offer for the next couple of years and I have zero interest in it. The few JRPG's I can't get on Xbox I can just get on my Switch.

The reason I buy the Xbox hardware is not because I like the hardware, it's the ecosystem, my large library of back compat games, free cloud saves, play anywhere, quick resume and the preferred UI that keep me coming back. Other features like getting cheaper online games via CD Keys is something I can't really do with PlayStation. I also like the reward points system and I do prefer the controller design (With haptics it would be perfect). If Nintendo Switch 2 is anywhere near Series S level it I won't bother getting a PS6 I will just get whatever the next Xbox is or a PC.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying The 'Early Access' Upgrade For Avowed?

Darylb88

I'm really looking forward to the game, and it looks right up my street, so yes I will grab the premium edition. I can see why you would wait for the standard release day though if you are unsure, busy or just curious. I normally get Ubisoft games I want "day one" rather than early access (although looks like they are stopping that now). It's fine to wait for something and it's also fine to get it early if the option is there and you choose to do so, free will and all. The market is there for it presently.
