Re: Calico Gets Review Bombed On Xbox, Dev Calls For 'Better Moderation'

Daric

The only thing that's really wrong imo is if people are able to get in more than one review (or if they are being hateful on the review text).
If most people think your game sucks, for whatever reason, why is it a "review bomb". People just don't like it, grow up

"don't like our game? you're a bigot"
nah fam, your game looks like garbage

Re: Skull & Bones Developer Claims The Game Lacks Depth In Every Area

@themightyant
"A few articles on niche website's like this isn't going to change it's sales outcome by much."

That's the bit isn't it. Because it probably won't change anything (even if the game is crap, which maybe even is idk) on the grand scheme, but it could mean Ubisoft refraining from working with this developer (company) in the future.

It's like getting my company hired to build a house. And as the outside paint is drying standing on the street going "looks a bit ***** don'it?" to people passing by.
(forgive the analogy, it probably sounded funnier in my mind!)

@Benjamin except this is isn’t whistleblowing, it’s plain old trash talk that puts your coworkers’ livelihoods in jeopardy. Even if you think it’s crap, it’s deserving of its marketing phase because there will surely be people who enjoy it. And this guy is trying to take a big ol dump on it for attention and internet epeen coupons

Re: FIFA 23 Launches This September, The 'Biggest Ever' FIFA Game

Daric

@jarvismp i think it’s madness to spend 120+ quid every year on an MMO sub, but you don’t see nearly as much complaining. FIFA is 50/year and is consistently one of the best selling games so id say the price is right, madness or not.
Personally i like that there are deeper gameplay/content changes every year, rather than a game as a service model

Re: FIFA 23 Launches This September, The 'Biggest Ever' FIFA Game

Daric

@jarvismp So 50 quid is too much for a game people spend hundreds of hours on over the course of a year? Do you know any other yearly videogame that costs 15 quid at launch?
It’s the same conversation every year, gets tiresome. Most of all I always wonder why people who wouldn’t play it either way are the ones most bothered by it. Cheers mate

Re: FIFA 23 Launches This September, The 'Biggest Ever' FIFA Game

Daric

@jarvismp i see this complaint every year (always coming from someone who doesn’t play the game of course) and my question has remained the same for years: what would you change on it? It’s a football simulation game, it’s already pretty good at simulating football. So what would you change, keeping in mind that suggesting a complete overhaul would alienate the millions of people who actually enjoy the game as it is?

Re: Xbox Games With Gold Is Officially Ditching Xbox 360 Games

Daric

@NEStalgia as you know, there was a time when Gold was just for online play. GwG was/is just a nice bonus since its inception.
It remains just like it always was. Difference being that now there are better value services for people who want games.
(plus, you don't even need Gold anymore to play free games online)

Re: Review: Sonic Origins - A Supersonic Collection That's Lacking TLC

I don’t understand why you’d need “save/reload” when the game autosaves and has infinite respawning from the latest checkpoint tho. This isn’t an emulated version of the games, they save each play.

@xMightyMatt14x I’ve played through 1 2 and cd without any issues.. some bugs on the original mega drive versions are actually fixed
