Definitely will be playing this, but on PC. 60 fps is pretty important for me personally, so yeah, wish they had the option on console as well.

@IOI Ah yes, my favorite argument. The "I haven't played it, but it should be a higher rating." Give it a rest. Reviews aren't that serious anyway. They are based off of one person's subjective experience. Nobody's going in looking to give it lower review scores because it's an Xbox game.

Can't wait for them to shadow drop a new game, have it get universal acclaim, and then shut down the studio that made it!

I always treat these input advantages debates like people complaining about officiating in sports. Just another excuse for why they lost.

I could see it. Rumors indicate a reveal this week apparently, so I could definitely see a mention in the Xbox event. Most likely scenario is Doom the dark ages being announced for Switch 2.

I'll try a few that will inevitably backfire hilariously.

1. Of the 5 first party titles expected for 2025 (Outer Worlds 2, Avowed, new doom, South of Midnight, and Fable) 2 will be extremely disappointing. (Probably Fable and Avowed).

2. Forza Horizon 6 will be revealed this year, and will be set in Japan.

3. The next PS5 port announced will Flight Simulator 2024.

4. 2025 will be the strongest year for game pass yet (thanks heavily to first party releases.)

5. Indiana Jones will get higher review scores on PS5 than on Xbox (because it would be funny). It will also release on the Switch 2.

Holy crap development budgets are out of control. This is not sustainable in the long run for the industry.

South of Midnight looks awesome, but there's also a couple others that I'm looking forward too, so definitely an exciting year!!!

And with one game Machine games has now been able to make Indiana Jones more relevant than Hollywood could with the last 2 movies. Absolutely hilarious.

Ah Indiana Jones. So close to my number 1. Too bad it's not as good as SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS BABY!!!! Honestly a classic skill issue for Machine Games.

Gotta say, only recently learned about South of Midnight, but man that game looks good. Probably my most anticipated game on here tbh (with the potential exception of FH6 if that's in the works).

I actually don't think I've played any 2024 games I would give a 10 to. Granted, I've barely played anything that came out this year, but I think only truly special games deserve a 10/10, and I don't think anything reached that mark. Indiana Jones had some 10/10 elements, but man that combat was freaking awful.

I mean, I think Indy is pretty easily my favorite. Jedi Survivor was a great addition too. Also, not on the list, but Humanity was a pretty underappreciated title as well.

@themightyant Agree 1000 percent. This whole paid early access crap isn't giving anyone the game early. It's just giving everyone else the game late.

@jerrylongbones That's entirely fair when it comes to supporting the studio. Just to clarify what I said initially, the whole "stupid" line was more meant as a joke than anything. Trust me, if one of us two is stupid it is 1000% me. But, one thing on the last point. It's true game release dates are all over the place, but most major games release right before the weekend. And almost no major releases are on Mondays. I would bet every dollar I have that the 6th would've been the release date if this whole nonsense didn't exist. Personally, I despise this practice to the point I wouldn't support it under any circumstances (even if it was for one of my favorite series), but I don't expect everyone to feel the same. And once again, your reasons are pretty valid. Regardless, I'm sure we can both be glad the game is good. Can't wait to jump into it myself once winter break rolls around.

@jerrylongbones But is it really helping them out though? Like, I'm sorry but I can't envision this money going to anywhere other than shareholders and executive bonuses. Also, I don't like how you say "Getting it early as a bonus." Let's be real about it, if this whole early access garbage wasn't a thing, you would've gotten it on the 6th anyway. That would've been the release day. Nobody releases games on Mondays. It's not a bonus, it;s just locking the real release date behind a paywall. This whole nonsense is horse armor all over again, and I hate that it exists. Just wait until GTA 6 releases and charges 60$ extra to play the game a week early. You get what I mean? Once again, I don't want to tell you how to spend your money. By all means do whatever you wanna do. But, I don't know, hopefully this helps you understand my position and why I choose not to support these practices.

It deserves bad scores. Release a broken game, get bad scores. I'm still ticked people have decided to give cyberpunk a pass cause they "fixed it". BS. Either get the game working before release, or delay it. Stop making beta testers out of your paying audience. And if you really need to get it out the door, make it an early access release, and be honest about what people are getting.

@somnambulance I'm a big MH fan personally, so I'm definitely picking it up. I'm in the same boat with shadows though. It'll probably need a 90+ on metacritic to sell me though, cause I'm not a big fan of Ubisoft games.

@somnambulance I dunno if i would call it the big game. Monster hunter wilds and AC shadows both release within the same month, and those are definitely bigger releases.

I honestly don't know if cities skylines 2 will ever come to console at this point. It's an optimization nightmare right now, and could end up being tricky to get to run on series s.

Well yeah, this has always been a thing. I get literally 10x faster download speeds on steam than on the Xbox app.

Yeah, that was kind of an unforgivable decision by Xbox. And for a while, I got tricked into liking them, because Phil Spencer is a likable guy. But this and the Tango shutdown really makes ya realize that yeah, Microsoft is an evil trillion dollar corporation, aren't they.

@andrewsqual I mean, the consoles aren't doing well, that's for sure. But that's not the only way Microsoft makes money in the gaming department. At this point, not sure they really care about console sales, cause they're taking it in regardless.

Yeah, Xbox isn't doing as bad as many believe. Sure Xbox consoles aren't selling that well, but that's not really the point.

@Nintendo4Sonic Im really curious how game pass hurts the industry in your mind. Because there are several ways in which it plainly does not. For example, the money from game pass deals can be extremely beneficial for smaller indie studios that have their games on the service. Not to mention, it gives many people an affordable option to play new games, which can be rather expensive. So like I said, just curious how this hurts the industry exactly.
