Console manufacturers have always made their money through software sales. The last time i bought a game on Xbox was 2023. I just use it these days for gamepass. Which I activate on a monthly basis when i want to. Potential to also make the next gen introductory price not seem as steep. All I know is, this might be the first console generation were you can you sell your console for a profit at the end.
@RZ-Atom because it’s an emulation of a PS1 game that is 30 years old. You don’t need a comment on the gameplay. It’s the same game. They did highlight all the texture and asset changes that had been implemented. They’re also a great channel for tech analysis. They don’t often review gameplay because that not what they do. I mean if you go to a brothel looking for love you’ll be disappointed. But most importantly, they never claimed to be a gameplay review channel did they.
I can never remember the levels name. Maybe downpour, but the issue was the rain was nerfed compared to the originals level. I hope they tweaked that. That’s all really.
What was my introduction to Xbox. Two things. 1. "It's a dark day for Dark Master" 2. Playing Bloodwake at Curry's on a display unit, never seen water like it.
@OldGamer999 Fair. I understand the dislike. You've played Xbox since the early naughties, me too. It does suck not seeing them in the limelight as they once were. I saved and bought the Xbox for DOOM 3, Fable, Half-Life 2 and randomly, Blood Wake (Never seen water like it). When it came to 360, Dead Rising, Saints Row, Crackdown. All amazing titles. Yes they have had plenty of errors. But who hasn't. The Wii-U, Virtual Boy, PS Vita. Right now, Xbox has got the more interesting line up of titles on the horizon, even if some are multiplatform.
@OldGamer999, You know procedural generation has an extensive history in gaming, right. Daggerfall, Elite, Minecraft, No Man's Sky, Fuel, Civilization IV, Dark Chronicle, Dark Cloud, Diablo, Far Cry 2, Minesweeper, Just Cause, Mount & Blade, Spelunky, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
There's plenty more too. As for the fanboyism regarding PS. I wouldn't waste my money on a console that charges for cloud saves.
It’s not quite as simple as just repacking them up for Xbox one. To run on Xbox one the games need recompiling into x86 from the Power PC instruction set. Because of this, I believe (speculation) they are technically no longer following the original licensing agreement and need new ones. Which for certain titles is just not cost effective. Not defending the issue. It’s a problem Microsoft are making. A straight forward emulator wouldn’t work, hence why the discs you put in your Xbox need to download the whole game. Maybe they could release their emulator on PC, which at least has the grunt to brute force this on the fly. Either way. It’s a bit turd.
@Lup This is pure speculation. But didn’t that MLB The Show get released on gamepass day one. That was developed by PlayStation studios. It might be as part of the deal to get it, they have to release those figures to publishers to help entice them. Other than that. No clue.
@Would_you_kindly if you have Amazon prime you can link your PlayStation account to your Bethesda account, then link your Bethesda account to Amazon and then you can unlock the Arch Files skin pack on PS4. Plus I believe Amazon prime gaming says the rest are coming soon. So there is a way. Just a little more convoluted. Hope that helps.
Is there anybody with actual programming knowledge that could potentially explain why they have opted to use Unreal rather then RAGE for this? I have zero complaints. Im very happy with how this looking. Just seems a strange decision to pay Epic a small cut rather then to use their own in house engine. Unless Unreal is better at handling old Renderware files then their own engine. Color me impressed though. I cannot wait.
I bought a Series S, just because the cost was a no brainier to replace my ageing launch One. Every game I’ve played now runs better and games that use a variable resolution look significantly better too. I really wish RDR2, Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6 would get at least a 1080p patch though. First world problem though eh. Love the Series S.

I don't think you did make those decisions, Satya Nadella did. When you guy spent too much wonga on a COD franchise.

Re: Xbox Game Pass: Coming Soon & Leaving Soon In May 2021
I’m a little surprised to see Alan Wake leaving, with it being a Microsoft published game.
