I gotta say, I think Linus is talking out of his ass with this one. This thing isn’t a massive powerhouse. It shouldn’t cost more than $800 on the extreme high end. I really do hope it’s not over $500 though so my friends can finally join me on pc.
Wow. It just had a big update too, so I was waiting for that to drop before jumping back in and just haven’t had a chance yet. Damn. What a shame. I guess I need to pay closer attention to gamepass departures.
Even if they do listen and reverse this, the damage is already done. Judging by the fact that the website crashed from people going to unsubscribe, a lot of members cancelled their gamepass subs. Those people are already spurned and most likely wouldn’t resub if the price hike was reversed. They took a chance hoping we were all stupid and it backfired horribly.
You won’t find a bigger Xbox fan than me. Bought every console day one, bought and played almost every single exclusive, stayed loyal. There is no defending this. This is some brain dead, profit focused executive at Microsoft looking at spreadsheets and not understanding their customer base one bit. What few fans that didn’t leave after the Xbox One fiasco, will leave for good now. Either they notice the error of their ways and reverse this, or it’s going to be a rocky road ahead for Xbox brand.
I haven’t played COD in years. Before gamepass even existed. I’m also planning on getting BF6. But let’s not pretend that COD isn’t the biggest and best selling game every single year. Every year it’s the same “COD is dead/in trouble” articles starting up around July-August and every year it breaks sales and player records. Also, the BF6 beta was free to play, so let’s not go crowning it as a COD killer until we see how many of those people actually buy the game.
I mostly use it for the gamepass quests. But if they could reduce the input lag to almost nothing and find a way to get an official app onto something like a steam deck then I would definitely use it more often.
