The biggest deal in Xbox Cloud Gaming history is reportedly just around the corner, as Xbox boss Asha Sharma has apparently told employees that GTA 6 will stream exclusively as part of Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch in November.
This news was broken today by The Verge, which says that it doesn't know how long the deal lasts for, but Sharma highlighted that it's something "no other platform holder is doing".
"According to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, Xbox has managed to land a deal for the exclusive game streaming rights for Grand Theft Auto VI."
Xbox's exclusive streaming rights mean that not only will PC players have a way to play GTA 6 ahead of its native PC release, but even Xbox One owners should be able to stream the game to their last-gen consoles as well.
One of the catches is that Xbox recently announced Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming limits for Game Pass members that will go into effect from November onwards, with even XGP Ultimate members only getting a maximum of 15 cloud hours per-month unless they're willing to pay for more.
It's also claimed that a new pay-as-you-go offering for the service will begin rolling out in November, allowing you to pay for a "bundle of hours" without needing to be a Game Pass subscriber or even own an Xbox console at all. That said, you'll presumably still need to buy the full-priced Xbox console version of GTA 6 before you can access it via the cloud.
These limits are starting to make sense now! Xbox Cloud Gaming is going to receive a huge influx of players in November when GTA 6 begins rolling out, so Microsoft better hope its servers can handle the load.
