SkateBird was originally expected to hit Xbox Game Pass on August 12, but has now encountered a small delay, pushing it back to September 16.

The reason? To allow some extra time and ensure the game is as polished as it can possibly be. Developer Glass Bottom Games believes fans and Kickstarter backers should receive the best possible experience, and according to its founder Megan Fox, it "wasn't an easy decision".

“This wasn’t an easy decision, but SkateBird was always a game about doing your best, and we owe it to our backers, fans, and fellow bird enthusiasts to ship the game in its best state. As a small indie studio, completing certification on multiple platforms requires plenty of extra work. Launching on September 16, 2021 lets us ramp up our efforts to ensure SkateBird comes to PC and consoles on the same day!”

To soften the blow with an apology, a new tongue-in-cheek trailer has dropped to signal the delay. It's unfortunate, but understandable given the global pandemic and developers wanting their game to be the best it can be. Thankfully it's only a small delay for our little feathery friend.
