Update []: Xbox is now saying that the "Game Save Sync Indicator" will be available for everyone next week.
"We’re rolling out the Game Save Sync Indicator next week, a feature designed to give you peace of mind when switching between devices. With clear status updates, you’ll know exactly when your progress has synced to the cloud, whether you’re wrapping up on your PC or powering down your handheld. No more guessing or lost progress, just seamless, stress-free play across devices."
Original Story: These days, with Xbox pushing such a big "Play Anywhere" focus and encouraging you to enjoy your games across multiple devices, it's more crucial than ever for the brand to enhance its cloud save system for console and PC games.
With that in mind, some ROG Xbox Ally and PC owners have discovered today that a new feature has begun rolling out on the Xbox PC app that allows you to very easily understand when your game saves have been synced to the cloud.
You can see some examples in the tweets below:
In a nutshell, this feature should provide more clarity over your game saves and easily accessing them across console and PC, as well as their syncing status when uploading to the cloud for PC games in general. The two examples above aren't actually cross-save compatible, but nevertheless are still providing key info on their cloud save status.
We believe this new game save indicator is only rolling out in preview form right now, so you may not see it straight away, but it should be live for everyone pretty soon. In the meantime, we'll leave you with a recent story that we covered about Xbox console saves and how they also received some big improvements back in June 2025:
