We've heard how the ROG Xbox Ally is set to improve with multiple new features over the coming weeks and months, but the updates are coming from numerous sources - ASUS has stuff in mind, and Xbox has stuff in mind as well.
ASUS is first out of the gate here, announcing a "big week" of ROG Ally and ROG Xbox Ally updates that are being spread across Tuesday and Wednesday. Most of this content is being implemented through the Armoury Crate SE app which is used to control many things on the Ally, and it spans a whole load of meaningful improvements.
"Hey Republic of Gamers! This is a BIG week for updates on the ROG Ally, ROG Ally X, ROG Xbox Ally, and ROG Xbox Ally X! A new version of Armoury Crate SE is coming with a number of new features, such as more options for configuring CPU and power, plus lots of other improvements and bug fixes. You’ll also find new MCU, BIOS, and other updates to improve overall stability and performance on both devices."
As hinted at in that quote, we're seeing some really interesting additions here such as improved overall gaming performance, improved haptics for Impulse Triggers, improved power consumption in Modern Standby, an improved gyro aiming algorithm, refined adapter plug-in detection, improved system performance and much more.
We'll leave you with the full patch notes down below, courtesy of ASUS. Stay tuned for more on this - Microsoft has already outlined some new features on the way to the ROG Xbox Ally in late 2025 and early 2026 as well!
