@rjejr lol these names are terrible and confusing they should've pick a random number instead maybe xbox 20,69.420,3000 or just anything that don't have an S or X in it's name IDK xbox infinite maybe beyond these names are much better and can be easly identifie them to old gen
@rjejr yeah I agree the naming is so confusing they should've named the xbox series x, xbox 20 or xbox beyond we already have x name in the old gen why reuse it and then the lockhart which probably will be xbox series s adding more confusion maybe series x should be beyond and lockhart beyond C for cheap
@SuperNintendoMii you dont need that much ram for 1080p as well it's gddr6 it will be enough they wont cut they just need to change the resolution to 1080p instead of 4k and as well the series s have a better cpu much stronger than i7 the x1x cpu is easly beaten by a pentinum 4tflop new architech would be on par with 3gen old 6tflop architect.Basically the more teraflops are mostly needs for 4K and aiming for 1080p would be absolutely fine. consoles are even more closer to pc than ever thanks to amd ryzen and rdna2 which both are in pc. I suggest you to read digital foundry article https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2020-in-theory-does-a-4tf-next-gen-console-make-sense
@PretendWorking cheap 4k tv usually have a lot of input lag as well being only made to watch movies instead of gaming or doing smooth 60fps there is a lot of 1080p variant like 1080p 144fps 240fps which 4k monitor lacks 90% of the world still stuck in 1080p Imaging you have an awesome 1080 244hz monitor do you really want to switch to 4k 60fps tv that usually have alot input lag
@SuperNintendoMii wrong scaling down is easier than up when the games are ported to the pc they use high end specs and then they try and make weaker gpu run the dev usaly work with rtx2080 or something and then they try to make the game run in gtx1060 not the other way around so series s wont hold back it will be 1080p version they will have the same cpu
@abe_hikura next-gen 4TFLOPs could equal to current-gen 6TFLOPS because of 3 gen architecture gap between them so basically Lockhart would be Xbox One X's successor with modern components and without a trashy cpu even a pentinum is more powerful than jaguar cpu. Instead of outputting 4K, however, I think it's more likely to output 1080p or maybe 2k the majority of people still has a 1080p tv so having only 8gb ram and less bandwith than x1x won't matter as the 1080p is the target instead of 4k
@BlueOcean I think the xbox 360 E only existed as an offline console compared to xbox one originaly been always online as well as trying to lower the red ring of death chances in the new model
@sixrings I'm not sure nothing is confirmed and my comment is just a speculation on what lockhart might be wish I hope so it makes the more sense releasing a 1080p for those who are still in 1080p and won't change their tv anytime soon imaging being a parent and you buy xbox series x for your son only to play fortnite and minecraft isn't this a waste of money
I think lockhart (xbox serie s) is a 1080p console for those who don't have a 4k tv the 4 teraflop would be on par with last 2 gen architecture 6 teraflop the xbox one x uses so basicly lokhart is an xbox one x without a junk cpu as well as been targeting 1080p instead so the one x probably has more ram and bandwith but those aren't needed for 1080p

Re: 'Optimized For Xbox Series X' Games Are Targeting 60FPS At 4K Resolution
@mousieone ubisoft said that valhalla is 30fps in both consoles but they said there is a possibility for adding more option like a 1080p 60fps
