Re: Talking Point: 10 Years Ago, Phil Spencer's First E3 In Charge Marked A Turning Point For Xbox

I feel that Xbox as a brand is at a real inflection point here. Worldwide they're getting outsold by over double by the PS5 and the Switch is also still outselling Series X/S even though it's 7 years old and no doubt the Switch 2 is going to sell like crazy as well. Xbox went from "Xbox has no games" to "Xbox buys up a bunch of publishers and studios" to "Why do I need to buy an Xbox when ALL of their games also come to PC day 1 and NOW their games are coming to PS5 and Nintendo?". The talking heads at Micro$oft have said they're planning a next-gen console, but is there still a chance they change their minds and go the Sega route? If not, will the next generation be the last generation for Xbox hardware? So much uncertainty surrounding the brand. Hopefully this Showcase answers at least some of these questions.

Man, I remember this like it was yesterday! Such an awesome commercial that no doubt helped to sell a boatload of Xbox 360's! I already had mine, but THIS was the game to justify my purchase of the console for sure!

Hopefully Gears 6 gets announced at the Xbox Showcase and the brand can build it's way back up. I don't know that they'll ever hit the heights of the 360 era again though.

@Neither_scene Well that's the thing that is misleading about PC gaming. A lot of people just assume that "PC" automatically equals higher spec/framerates than consoles. That is not true at all. There are MANY "PC Gamers" out there who run rigs or laptops with LESS power than a Series X or PS5. What articles or people should say is "Suitably-spec'd PC" when talking about potential better performance for a PC port.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Expect To See From Microsoft's Update On The Future Of Xbox?

No matter what they say next week, for me personally it doesn't change anything. I'm a 46 year old gamer with an 18 year old son who's an even bigger gamer. We buy ALL of our multiplatform games on Xbox due to both of us owning Series X's. We buy 1 copy digitally and both get to play it due to game sharing (profiles are on each other's console with his as my primary and mine as his...most of you know how it works by now). I have a PS5 but he doesn't so since we both want to play as many games as possible, I simply can't afford to purchase every multiplatform game twice at $90 CAD. Thus my PS5 is ONLY for exclusives. And I've noticed a slight increase on the PS and XB stores as many upcoming titles are now listed at $93.99 and $94.50 CAD for the standard editions...so we'll for sure be continuing the same pattern going forward.

Re: Talking Point: What Has Your Experience Been Like With Refunds On Xbox?

SleeplessKnight

I've had a great experience with digital refunds on Xbox. The only 3 times I've ever requested a refund I got it. Certainly much better than my experience with PlayStation where you have to contact them during specific hours as you have to chat with a live service rep. The only gripe I have is that they should not count free trial time played as part of the "significant amount of play time" criteria.
