Re: Report: Xbox Lands Exclusive Streaming Deal For GTA 6 At Launch

Retrojunkies

They've paid to have its disc to digital and existing stream game you own.

Essentially throwing money down the pan paying for something useless.

Why are people going to pay to stream a game they own physcially.

Why are people going to buy it on the console that charges you more to play online per hour when they can just play it on PSN without any time limits.

One more to add to its stupid moves to try make money.

When all xbox needs to focus on is giving gamers new games to play.

Stop trying to have your finger in too many pies and doing half assed job at what you try copy what others do.

Stick to a plan and focus on making a games console and games.

Re: Activision Issues Statement After Taking On Some Of The Biggest IP In Xbox History

Rare should be given its freedom. It was an epic studio until Microsoft took over.

It was a studio that worked independently and worked well with nintendo, whom could leave them to be creative and nintendo were always happy with the content they'd provide.

It used to release multiple games and of different themes, its going to beg the question if Activision just use them as support like Microsoft did.

Or forcing them while still under Microsoft dictatorship even if Xbox cant recover, to release same old recycled crappy shooters.

Halo fans watch out as you can guarantee now Halo will turn into a rehashed CoD but in the Haloverse.

Re: New Report Delves Into The History Of Xbox Disc To Digital, And Why PlayStation Can't Copy It

Retrojunkies

Funny the part about Microsoft embedding a serial onto the disc and the article like Sony can't copy it....

Sony had already embedded serial codes onto their games.... the games region/serial ID.

Those who know of Action Replay cheat devices....

This is how for example the PlayStation One cheat cartridges and discs would auto detect your game name when adding new cheats to it.

For the PlayStation 2 Datel had similar feature, but then they released its Action Replay MAX versions.

These would automatically detect your game and take you straight to its cheats automatically (if it had any cheats for that game).

It did this, again, by reading the disc for its region/serial ID.

So this isnt exactly anything new, nor anything Microsoft came up with.

Also its nothing new to xbox either when its Xbox One/X models would often ignore the data on the disc and force it to download digitally

I got sick of my Xbox constantly refusing to play my games which are always physical. And it asking me if I own the game to re download it from the store.

So its taken them all these years to make it sound like they've started to do something new.

Insert disc, console reads disc for its region/serial ID and then downloads it...

The problem they run into with third parties ironically are those that didn't release said game over to PC.

As Xbox has always been Windows with a custom front, majority of its Xbox games can run on both.

Shame its not the same vibe versa how it claims to bring both together, yet you can find an xbox game on console, but cant find it on PC.... for example Cyberpunk.

When shouldnt that be the whole point of its app, to be a store that lists all games like steam.

Shame really because Microsoft always do a half a55srd job at everything even in windows....

Decades of ignoring pc as a market and now valve step up to take that slice of pie...

Microsoft are getting scared and now focusing on something thats not new, nor their idea, and in the end, its doing the same as Sony as it pushes them to say how many gamers prefer digital because they've converted over.

Ohh and let's not also forget how they originally wanted to block gamers from using or buying pre owned games.

Unfortunately Sony have just done that by forcing it as digital only, meaning you cant buy games physical anymore and can only buy them off PSN.

Knowing Microsoft they'll probably do the silly mistake ontop of endless many already and let gamers use Steam as a store on a xbox console thus gamers opt to buy off steam vs xbox and lose more money.
