@grumpypotato generally your point about Metro is valid, however the games section on the website goes back to the digitiser days on channel 4 and is absolute top quality. It genuinely is one of the best, most discerning and well respected gaming sites around. Try it, you'll be surprised. Just ignore the rest of the site which is terrible.
I've used it, as was only about £5 difference in cost between that and normal one at the time. I thought it was a really cool idea and lots of options. Was really pleased with mine, something different.
I bought a series s to supplement my Switch and pick up all the games either not on Nintendo Switch or not great versions. The price point and availability were huge factors. I couldn't justify the cost of a series x or ps5 disc edition. Backwards compatibility over the past two decades was also a major selling point. I'm old enough to have played through all console generations and having a machine that played SSX3, Timesplitters, Orange Box, Joe Danger, Dishonored, Outer Wilds, various Burnouts and many more as well as acceptable versions of new releases for £250 was a great proposition. Not regretted it at all. I'm sure series x is a step up but I've got a happy balance.
All the time, but I don't really view them as being any different to modern games. I don't really regard the Xbox (series S) as backwards compatible as such - more a machine that plays everything if that makes sense. If I want to play SSX3 or Portal 2 then I just play them, I don't think of them as BC specifically.
I managed to do this to get the Orange Box for my Series S. Took a few goes. I had to access the US marketplace to add a payment card, then try and buy it via the US (I'm a UK owner). It took about 5 attempts across different browsers but suddenly worked with no obvious reason as to why. Orange Box £14.99. Seemed reasonable
