As divisive as it is for some, I love the MGS series but must admit the last game saw the series loose it’s lustre for me - especially when they got rid of David Hayter and replaced him with a dull performance from kiefer Sutherland. I personally didn’t like death stranding much either, so I do find it hard to get excited about Kojima’s next project. I wouldn’t be that upset if the Sony acquisition rumours turned out to be true tbh. Each to their own though 😊
@S1ayeR74 - definitely 😊 We’re lucky enough to have both series s and x and my son has a ps5. We love both MS consoles and I think they’ve done a great job in terms of design, thermals and the all important fan acoustics. The ps5 needs more of a redesign though I think - it’s huge and the horizontal orientation (the only way we can fit it in our particular set up) with the wobbly stand is terrible. As for dismantling the machine to upgrade the SSD - I don’t think we’ll ever bother tbh as it gets used a lot less that our Xboxes 😊
@S1ayeR74 well if he’s reliable then that’s fair enough - the point I was making is that this is hardly world stopping ‘leaked’ news is it - manufacturers have been streamlining the innards of consoles after launch since the 8 bit days lol. Anyone could have told you that and I’m not sure it warranted an article on the site. It’s not like it was about some new hardware or a slim xbsx or anything. Must have been a slow news day 😉
No news there then lol and I wouldn’t be surprised if ‘Brad Sams’ (whoever that is) is just guessing this without any real ‘insider’ info. It’s obvious that all console manufacturers streamline the process after launch to make things more cost efficient - it’s the way it’s always been. Given we are only a year or so into launch, it’s also feasible that this would be a small internal change rather than a newer / smaller model. Can’t wait for Brads next rumour that MS have more games in the pipeline 😂🙈
Can’t wait to see what the Coalition are able to achieve with UE5 - Gears 5 and hive busters are still stunning now and play great - easily the best Xbox shooters for me. My only worry is the frame rate on the Matrix demo - as impressive as it was there wasn’t much gameplay (only a demo after all) but the 30fps was jarring. 60fps is one of the main elements that makes Gears great to play - I hope the Coalition continue with this whatever their next game turns out to be 😊
@BBB - yep totally agree and it’s a bit worrying considering the game is supposed to be out this year. Hopefully there will be some actual gameplay shown in the coming months, and it looks a lot better than that lol. The screenshots do have a whiff of elite dangerous odyssey about them, running on a pc from 8 years ago. I’m also hoping that Bethesda have also improved their pudding face animation from their other titles 😊
Given the recent GTA trilogy disaster, I also think that we need to be mindful that even at this late stage, Rockstar still haven’t given us a proper trailer or shown any footage of these so called ‘next gen’ features. Wouldn’t surprise me if this update was also handled by the devs of the recent (terrible) trilogy ports. Definitely be worth waiting for the reviews on the one 🤔
I think we need a bit of balance aswell to be fair - DF also advise in their analysis that the game also runs at a rock solid 60fps on series S with RT turned off. They also suggest that the RT features are also negligible in terms of RE Village’s overall visual make up. Won’t be the same for all titles running in series S of course, but worth noting that there seems to be little to worry about with this game.
