Re: Preview: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Is A Confident Return for BioWare

"...one new feature to the Dragon Age franchise is a character backstory (similar to Starfield in a way) which can weasel its way into scenarios and drive the narrative down different forks in the road."

This existed in DA: Origins. Second article about this game from this website that contains blatant misinformation. The other one said DA2 had a similar battle system to DA:O but "with more complexity" and that Inquisition was "more action based" than the previous games. Pretty clear these writers haven't played some/most/all of the games in the series, or even done 15 minutes of research before cranking these articles out. Given that, it's hard to put much stock in the opinions on whether or not this a "return to form" or not.

Re: Poll: As Hellblade 2 Draws Near, What Do You Think Of The First Game?

Genuinely hated the first game. The plot and presentation felt incredibly overwrought, the whole "AcTuAlLy iT's AbOuT mEnTaL iLlNesS!1" thing was executed in such a pretentious and ridiculous manner that it was bordering on insulting. Great example of style over the substance, but I hated the aesthetic and art design, so there was literally nothing for me to enjoy. Pathetic that MS holds this up as a big exclusive we're supposed to look forward to - aside from the technical side, everything else about it seems like an afterthought. Xbox has really fallen off these last two gens, very sad to see after the glory of the 360 years. I'd be surprised if we get another Xbox, after the updated Series console.

Beautiful game, tons of fun. I've bounced off of every Far Cry since 4, last AC I enjoyed was Origins, and this finally feels like a fresh take on the formula. The open-world activities feel more influenced by BOTW than the typical UbiSoft game, thanks to the focus on exploration over endless map markers.
The PushSquare review jives much more with the overall take on the game, and I find the PureXbox reviewer's assertion that its beatable in 15 hours highly suspect, unless they were playing on easy mode in every category.
