@Ryu_Niiyama Not only does it feel like erasure it also comes down to the fact that it harms the characters themselves. Having set orientations allows for bigger character moments relating to specific orientations that are completely lost now.
@Savage_Joe Oh it all ties back to Sweet Baby okay. Hate to break it to you but they only worked on Suicide Squad out of the games you mentioned. Also whether or not they harassed the curator to whatever it doesn’t change the fact that their existence isn’t what made suicide squad bad. Nothing you’ve said proves that the “woke” is what ruined Suicide Squad or any of these games for that matter. The issue with all of them is fundamental gameplay more than character and story. Regardless Sweet Baby worked on many universally loved games such as GoW Ragnarok and Alan Wake 2. The argument doesn’t really make sense to me.
@Savage_Joe I’m curious how any of those examples of bad games you listed are woke. Suicide squad and saints row just had a pride flag in the background. If that’s all that it takes to qualify a game as “woke” then nothing should be a big deal because the pride flag didn’t ruin either of those games. They just have a mess of other issues that are 100% aren’t caused by diversity because that frankly doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. And for Redfall I can’t even remember any “woke” controversy. Bad games are bad and good games are good regardless of their inclusion of diversity.
Sounds a little like Venba mixed with a turn based RPG. 100% my jam I’ll load this up after I finish Sea of Stars.
Edit: on watching the trailer I just noticed how over the top that looks. Maybe Venba isn’t the right comparison but regardless it looks like a good time.
Dang P5 is leaving. I only got a couple hours in but enjoyed and have been meaning to go back. With all the other atlus deals I was almost certain it’d stay.
@NintendoByNature This. Physical Xbox one games are ridiculously cheap and that’s the main thing that’s been making me really want a disk drive. I have a One S digital that’s basically just a gamepass box but cheap physicals have made me consider an upgrade.
I wonder if Turnip Boy leaving is a sign the sequel is on the way. To my knowledge it just has a vague 2023 release date. Sometimes services remove the original before the sequel releases anyhow I’m not sure if this is related.
@Kaloudz I don’t understand why though. PC doesn’t require a service and for cross platform games aren’t those the same servers. To me it seems like an arbitrary way for companies worth billions to make a little more money.
@Cashews I think if it was unity takes a cut of each purchase it’d be taken differently. Each install is something where the charges start to add up. People uninstall and reinstall games frequently and using that as your basis is arbitrary and ridiculous.
@Jenkinss I think saying splitscreen is a niche feature is forgetting that a large market for video games is kids and families. Now this doesn’t apply for Baldur’s Gate but other games like Forza Halo etc definitely could be. I know a lot of people in this situation and I think dropping co op would lose the silent majority of the market in most games.
@Foxx_64740 I highly recommend it. I bought it the week Oxenfree two came out and got lots of publicity with gold points on switch. Probably took me about 5 hours to complete and I ended up getting really invested to all the characters and everything. It’s a hard game to describe the plot of without spoiling it but I’d definitely give it a go.
I’ve been on a short narrative indie kick recently so I’ll definitely play. I just completed the fantastic Oxenfree and now am starting a short hike with Venba on the list next. I’ll probably do Oxenfree 2 and then this.
@Cashews I’ve been using gyro controls for most shooters that support them since the first Splatoon. Typically I’ve always thought it works really well. I still use the sticks for most camera movement but use the gyro to line up precision shots. It takes getting used to but it’s worth it in the long run.
This is why live service games aren’t a great idea. Quite frankly it takes quite a bit of luck for something to catch on and a lot of money invested in publicity to make a live service work neither of which this game had. Companies are trying to invest into this ecosystem but the people willing to try just aren’t there.
@EvenStephen7 I dunno about the paw patrol games being surprisingly fun I mean maybe they would be if they weren’t buggier than cyberpunk was at launch. I own this one on switch and the kid played it one time. It was legitimately a broken mess and I can’t blame him. Apart from that maybe I’ll have to suck it up and buy spelunky 2.
Hah nice build up goodwill by announcing tons of gamepass games with an extremely well done showcase to try to cover up these price increases. Not working on me though. I’m considering dropping gamepass anyhow so maybe this is the excuse I need.
@Ep_13 Just because split screen isn’t a huge thing for you personally doesn’t mean it’s not a big problem for the game as a whole. After Halo 5 343 promised infinite would have it and look how that turned out. For some people the whole reason they play Halo is for a co op campaign and 343 dropped the ball. 343 as a whole has just been making promises they can’t keep.
Honestly I didn’t expect much out of the open world Ubisoft Star Wars but this looks… better than I thought actually. I mean words still out on the gameplay till the Ubisoft forward but the concept overall seems better than I thought. Seems a bit like Far Cry with a Star Wars skin which could be good fun.
More totk for sure. Nearing the final boss but trying to sweep up side quests. I also purchased a used copy on the og uncharted so I’ll likely boot that up. First time with the series. Finally me and a couple close friends stayed up all night playing Kirby Clash Deluxe for old times sake. Really a fun ftp game.
Seems it takes the slow clunky combat from dark souls. I’m willing to try a souls like but I haven’t really been able to get into that style of combat. I prefer more the Jedi fallen order style of fast paced. Shame because the setting seems cool.
@Kaloudz Interesting maybe I need to give it another shot. Stardew Valley ruined all other farming games for me. I used to be big into Harvest Moon and such but I just can’t go back now. I did try a little of RF4 but I found the farming a bit frustrating to control in some ways so I dropped it.
@UndyingInsurgent95 That’s a fair point I guess. It does feel like Sony is starting looking for more acquisitions though and despite Remedy’s previous relationship it could still be possible.
I’m enjoying what I’ve played but I kinda which it was a typical top down rts instead because having your own character hasn’t felt like it added much. Although I suppose then it wouldn’t stand out as much but to me it feels like it’s something to fight around instead of something that makes the game better. I adore the art style though the new mob designs are so good looking.
@Sakai
Netflix isn’t exactly a direct competitor. Their games are all mobile and target the audience of… okay I’m not sure what audience netflix games is going for but it still feels different from gamepass.
@Titntin I’m not sure Minecraft is a game that’s world renowned for its stunning graphics no? In a game like this being pretty doesn’t particularly matter to me as long as it runs well and the gameplay is good.
@CaptnDave I believe campaign has local co op and the pvp is combined with pve which is needed to get resources but I know that’s not exactly what your asking.
I played it at PAX and it felt like a very very early build. I really like what they were going for but the problems go deeper than graphics. The main character walks past gruesomely devoured employees with no reaction, impact lag is shown throughout the whole demo, and as far as I can tell the main character can’t die. Like no joke I got tackled by a dinosaur and it just chewed on me with its mouth clipping through the main characters body until I spammed enough buttons to be let go. It could be good but as of now requires a lot of tweaking to be good. The devs were really nice though and seemed like passionate people.
@jolteon23 I really enjoyed that game but however got the bad ending. I’ve always wanted to go back but never felt like going through the majority of the game again to get a good ending.
I understand this for the multiplayer games to an extent but single player stuff like mass effect and the Witcher 2 makes no sense to me. I realize these games are on other platforms but regardless.

Dang maybe I should play through Opus this weekend. I started it and like it but fell off for some reason.
Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (January 18)
After playing Turnip Boy at PAX I am really excited for this one. The new rogue lite direction worked for sure and kept the first games charm.
Re: Poll: How Many Xbox Games Have You Actually Bought In 2023?
Not a single one. My Xbox is exclusively a gamepass machine. I think I only bought 3 games total on it actually.
