Re: Is It Worth Buying An Xbox One In 2022?

I'm using the wife's one for the backwards compatible games as my 360 is reaching the end.

Until I get a series x, this is doing nicely even if the wireless is gone so it has to be plugged into the router .

Get Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon asap if you haven't played them. They are perfection. Well Blue Dragon is more of a 9/10 but Lost Odyssey is a perfect 10. Combat is more Final Fantasy 10 than Final Fantasy 15 but its an outstanding game. So pretty, fantastic turn based combat which makes it clear why being at the back row gives you more protection, and the story is lovely. Those dreams are so well put together.

Blue Dragon isn't quite as good but is still outstanding. It looks like a pixar film but actually has some swearing.

And if it is available still, get the Lost Odyssey dlc. It is really cheap and makes for a great way to level up.

Re: Happy New Year From The Pure Xbox Team

Happy New Year all. This is the year I'm gonna get a series x console either through all access or just by buying it in one go.

I have a goal in the mean time. Finish up any game that isn't forwards compatible. I only have around ten. Some are short eg Ecco the Dolphin while others are longer eg Sleeping Dogs but I feel its a good goal.

My 360 broke down last month and I bought a new one but who knows how long it will last.

I have lego star wars on preorder but will change it to xbox if I have the new console by then.

About a year and a half ago, I was all for getting a ps5 until I realised Microsoft really is doing better. Free upgrades, making it clear they support both generations compared to Sony who seemingly changed their mind at the last minute and have put almost all big games on ps4 too. And the console design is awful. Its way too big and unappealing.

So Series X all the way. Roll on Plague Tale 2, Lego SW and Hogwarts Legacy.

Re: The Xbox One & Xbox 360 Are Now Eight And Sixteen Years Old

The 360 is still one of the greatest consoles of all time. I had so much fun playing online for the first time, hunting achievements, getting into the Halo and Gears series, and truly feeling this was a massive step up from the last gen. Getting my first HDTV nearly a year later made it even better.

But I can't say the same for the xbox one. Its disastrous launch completely killed it for me. My wife has one so I enjoyed playing Gears 4 (just bought 5), Ori and Master Chief Collection. That's it. The 360 was full of exclusive games like Lost Odyssey and Viva Pinata, or timed exclusives like Mass Effect and Lost Planet. The x1 is missing so much. Respect for them for trying their best to fix the mistakes of the first years and backwards compatibility is outstanding.

I will get an Xbox X eventually but to me, PS4 was by far the better choice last time.
Poor Microsoft. They made the exact bad decisions that all console makers make on their third console. At least they didn't do irreparable damage like Atari and Sega though. Like Nintendo and Sony, they did bounce back.
