Yes I did see they are re-releasing the NeoGeo and some games.
It also works with the original cartridges as well.

I was thinking that the new lower base would become next generation the series x and PS5. Then Helix and PS6 for those that want to splash the cash and have the top end gaming on consoles.

The way the world is going, we will only be able to afford essentials to life.

This is a lot better than the current one.

As you mentioning waiting for Helix for this new boot up.
Current generation will be around for a very long time and cross generation games, probably for all of next generation.

It’s all becoming very expensive for very diminishing returns. People are not parting with their cash so easily so I think they will continue to make the series x at least available for a good while after the more expensive Helix releases.

Really enjoyed the single player campaign the game play etc was spot on, along with control mechanics etc.

However the game fell short and should have been the reimagined Halo, like BOTW was to Zelda.

And should have shot the series to new highs and levels. Such a missed opportunity.

I was just trying to give some direction for Xbox to become a name in gaming like Nintendo overall.

Actually I really don’t know how they can recover at all being honest.
But let’s see how they can do and how it goes.
I hope it goes well as more competition the better.

You simply need to get back to making great games, probably new great IP as well.

Just look at Nintendo with DKB for Switch 2, big new IP with 91 on meta and selling well.

Also make new developments or reboots of existing franchises, like Zelda went to BOTW and TOTK.

You don’t have to look far, to see some amazing examples of what is required. If you wish to increase hardware, software and probably gamepass sales.

It is all about the games to start with then PR and engagement with gamers and general public and then keep the games rolling in and marketing and get noticed again.

For Love or Money I still can’t think where Xbox growths areas actually are, especially after last quarter’s results.

It won’t be in hardware even with Helix.
I don’t think it will be in game pass, unless they offer it to Sony and Nintendo as well.

So software yes, if you continue to sell on Sony and Nintendo as well, the games those gamers want, like FH5 did very well.

Maybe mobile phone gaming.

There are many good reasons I have always bought consoles.
For me it’s the games on that console, so mainly exclusives and single player games as I’m not a big online player.

Not sure where this puts the current Xbox offering and even Helix, with currently exclusives not being the thing.

I mean Xbox have so many studios they should be dominating or near top.
I think game pass was their golden ticket but it didn’t really work for console sales, so they had to something else with those massive studio investments.

Forza Horizon games have always been at the top end visually, and this is exactly what I expected on the respective consoles.

I guess the top end PC crowd well get native 4K 60FPS and a view bells and whistles as well.

Upscaling is ok but on consoles I find console FSR definitely behind PSSR 2.0 DLSS on switch 2.

I know top end PC FSR is better and I’m sure Helix will be as well.

When all said and done, Xbox is leading in a similar direction really.
Project Helix PC with a console mode for old Xbox games and I probably think not exclusive games, maybe some delays or certain games.

But I think Halo combat evolved and the new gears are still multi-platform day one.
And they are big ones. Along with FH6 with maybe a release 6 months after.

It is no different from when Phil left.
Yes the PR is being put a bit more from a spin angle, with Xbox, but it’s still the same end result.

Unfortunately there is no magical and miracle cure for the Xbox platform.

That’s another weird thing, in all my gaming I have never had stick drift or a bad controller.

Never ever purchased a third party controller in decades of gaming for any console.
I will stick with my elite 2 controller.

Yep totally get why fellow gamer.
I don’t even think most Xbox studios push the series x really that much.

It’s only mainly Nintendo and Sony that push their consoles as also they only make the game for that one device.
No series s and x, no pc, no cloud streaming. It all takes time and cost on the developer.

It’s a shame really as I think the series x has more. But getting that last extra 15% of power out probably takes time and learning.

I think that one reason Sony went pro with built in PSSR it makes it easier for developers especially now version 2.0 is out and of course the extra horse power.

I do worry as time goes on the series x may get left out a bit, just look at some of percentage sales of new games, even the switch 2 sells more third party like RE9 and Pragmata.

I will say I think the series x has been Xbox’s most unoptimised console from third parties and even Xbox studios.

I think it has more power under the hood but producing for more than just one console and cost and time constraints, the series x advantage has not shined through.

Maybe FH5 and now FH6 are good usage examples of the series x power and probably gears will be.

You can only go so far then you need more power especially if you want to keep very smooth and stable 60FPS.

The pro is currently king of the consoles with this, especially with sharpness and detail since PSSR 2.0.

In the graphics especially when moving around. And I don’t like it anymore.

Maybe I’m being a bit spoilt, but the Pro now with PSSR 2.0 really delivers that top quality visual experience, anything else on anything else is becoming sub par to me.

But u think to get any better with current consoles, more power will be needed at some point.

Let’s see what FH6 brings next month.

But yes, long term they need games that draw the gamers and especially the general public.
A, Mario kart, Mario Odyssey, Zelda, Spider man 2 etc.
But of course Xbox studio games.
The only one so far that has proven its worth also on the PS5 is FH5.

Fair play to her for picking all this up and giving it a dam good go, i know it’s her job and probably gets paid very well.
But it seems she’s is having a good go so fair play to her.

Of course I really hope she turns things around and succeeds.

The two pillars of consoles are set
With Sony and Nintendo.
Xbox will be PC gaming with Helix, meaning no new Xbox console games as we know it as it will be a PC version on Helix and then if you wish you can switch to console dashboard like series x to play your old last generation Xbox console games, however they have not stated if this be via cloud gaming or native download to the console part of Helix, of course the new PC games will be native download.
Helix will sell a few but not as many or probably half the amount of series s and x.

It’s really a revert back to PC.
I think they will publish games to Sony and Nintendo consoles maybe with some delay or if they can sell enough to justify the port investment. Like FH5 was a very good port investment.

I think they are trying to bolster the Xbox brand but hardware wise it’s really gone, even with Helix as it will be a bit niche.

Software and publishing etc will be their income and possibly in someways game pass.
However the small content and services drop of 5% is a warning shot.
Not matter the PR speak spin says.

None of the above is meant in a negative way, just the way I see it going.

Infinite was great, a new one with modern graphics, different biomes, full weather system.
Open world but with bases and underground caverns, my a type of dungeon system.
Maybe a ship type loot system.

I think infinite had some right ideas, it was just to last generation and limited.

Gameplay was fabulous.

Thumb sticks diagonal across from each other and triggers of the series x Xbox controller are simply the best for me.
The most comfortable controller when playing is the Xbox controller for me.

For example when using a dual sense controller when moving and aiming and using the right trigger to shoot something the right thumb sticks gets pushed down by me, so I end up crouching it’s so annoying.

With the Xbox controller this never happens due to the ergonomics that suit my average hands.

Sorry and I don’t really care being honest, it was just an observation. But no way games like RE9 and Pragmata, very good third party games sell more on series x and s compared to PS5 even with digital, maybe switch 2 possibly.
The percentage gap for physical and also the user bases are vast. To make any digital sales make nowhere near a big enough swing in favour of series x and s.

And that’s one reason Xbox are going really PC next generation, so no next generation Xbox console version of new games will be required, it will run the PC version.

Because at some point companies like Capcom will stop supporting the Xbox series consoles because of extremely low sales. Basic Business, cost over profit.

I have it digital, it’s a great game, my sort of game, especially in-between open world type action adventure games. Next one of those will be AC Black Flag Resynced.

Totally off subject UK Pragmata top of sales chart.
79 percent of physical sales were on the PS5, 15 percent on the Switch 2, and six percent on the Xbox Series X.

I know it’s only physical sales, but what are Xbox owners playing, they not dipping into new games anymore.

Funny the xbox360 logo looks the worse and poor. But the console was the best ever Xbox have done and been.

Goes to show, you say what you want and play around with logos.
It’s first party games and third party deals and game sponsor ship and advertising rights that count. Xbox had COD and FIFA advertising deals and bundles in those days.

Sony just grabbed it all mainly during the PS4 era and copied the Xbox360, what a turn of events.

Will be more interesting down the line, see if they really start changing things and also keep price point after the PS5 increase, more expensive in the UK now PS5 and the Pro a lot more. Bet they still sell.

I liken Xbox, PS and Nintendo to UK football teams. Some teams have very large loyal followings and only a smaller certain amount and almost no matter what that team does it doesn’t get many more supporters.

Series x is fine as it is the best functionally feature wise over all three.
It’s already top dog there, so it don’t matter what you do.

Sorry team green, improvements are welcome of course, but it won’t shift consoles or brand take up.

There is almost nothing you can do now, the general public have spoken and it won’t change, they are really locked in.

Was just shopping on line and had a peak at the prices and now the PS prices have kicked in, it seem a bit over the top price wise jumping that £500 barrier in the mind and £790 for Pro.
