Re: Xbox Is An Official Partner For Next Week's Summer Game Fest 2025

@Kaloudz RE2 felt a lot more claustrophobic and tight spaced too. Didn’t feel as easy to just run away and gather yourself as it did in RE4. The overall theme of RE2 and 3 felt more horrifying too which I love more. In saying that though, RE4 was in no way bad. I also did love it.

Mostly first person or third person shooter or adventure. Currently playing Max Payne 3 and Dead Space 3 with my girlfriend, but also enjoy games like Assassins creed, Grounded, Doom, Halo, Red Dead, Stray, Dead Island. Also enjoy smaller games like Castle Crashers and It Takes Two etc

@Balaam_ I prefer physical too. I collect and have collected a lot of games in physical form, but if the price of games are already increasing for DIGITAL games, i'd hate to know what companies would decide to charge for full sized games stuffed into a blu ray disc that can fit these games (unless you know for a fact games 80 or 100gb+ can already fit on the type of disc they currently use). I cant imagine it would be cheap so it would be a good reason for them to charge an arm and a leg for physical which would cause even less people would buy them.

I know you're only half serious, but you're wasting your time waiting for Doom, or many other full games to be physical unless they change from disc to some other physical media type, which will likely never happen

@Mykomethod Yeah I’m with you on that. I can’t stand all the games that are blatantly created just to get an easy 1000-3000 gamerpoints. Especially when they release 3 seperate versions (Xbox One, XSX, PC).
Although Ubisoft games such as Assassins Creed are a lot bigger than I ever want them to be, I do have to appreciate that achievements encourage exploring the open world. I 100% Odyssey recently and I can safely say I’ll never commit to 100% an AC game again, but the achievements helped me explore the entirety of the world they had created.

I agree completely. I’m tired of seeing a new edition for the “Outbreak” game popping up on New Releases every day. I don’t know how Microsoft allows these games to keep releasing themselves as “new” every single week. It really does look like a mobile game store with a couple real, decent games sprinkled through

@Mykomethod I read this as the game is genuinely hard, and added as a side note, may turn off completionists hoping to have another quick 100% (which imo is good).

I personally like to 100% games that I love because it makes me feel satisfaction once I see the 100% (e.g. Skate 3 & Grounded to name a couple). I think achievements are a great way to keep people playing their games for longer. Unfortunately a lot of the games, especially remakes/remasters have broken achievements which ruin the experience.
I have zero interest in playing or completing those 30 minute, pure gamerpoint boost games people play thinking anyone other than themselves care about their gamerscore. In fact I’d be embarrassed to have them on my account.

@Kaloudz Honestly, it’s quite hard to say. Weirdly enough my favourite has to be between RE2 and RE3. I don’t know why I enjoyed RE3 so much. Possibly because it wasn’t super long and after grinding through multiple story campaigns in RE2, it was quite relieving to just play through a short game like RE3.

RE4 was really good. Maybe I was just a little burnt out from resident evil games when I played because I didn’t enjoy it as much as RE2 or 3.

I really need to try out CV. I didn’t realise it was so loved. That will likely be my next one I play tbh after talking with you

@themightyant Yeah i have also thought on countless occasions "Why am i doing this?", and just like you, I played games that I used to love, to the point of absolutely despising because of getting them to 100%. It feels like an addiction. Im at the same point though. I just wanted 100k and now that I've hit that, I'll only 100% games that I know I will enjoy from now on.

@Kaloudz I’m definitely eager to at least try and experience these older RE games before they potentially remake them. I didn’t grow up as a huge RE player, mostly just watched my friends play, but my girlfriend is really into the franchise so she’s gotten me into it more and more.

Now that you mention it, my hope is that they will establish the “relationship” between Chris and Wesker and remake RE0, CV, RE1 and then eventually move onto RE5. That’s me hoping anyway, but chronologically, it looks like CV is after RE3, so I have no idea haha. The more RE remakes the better though I say

@themightyant "so I can understand the sense of achievement, but after that long I would more likely just experience relief."

I've never thought of it like this, but i cant agree more. I've lost track of how many times i've spent hours trying to beat a game. The frustration mostly coming from achievements not popping and having to redo the entire game for them to unlock, but once they finally DO unlock, its not even a sense of achievement i'm getting, its like you said... relief.

Re: No Man's Sky Beacons Update Now Live On Xbox, Introduces 'Huge Settlements Overhaul'

-taco

I’ve never played No Man’s Sky but recently installed it (still haven’t played it). I know very little about it apart from there’s a bunch of planets you can visit, and it somewhat recently became co-op.
Is there combat, or is it basically a big exploration game? I’ve been desperately trying to find a game to fill the void left after beating Grounded with my friends and I’m unsure whether this game is similar in any way

@Kaloudz I’ll be really happy if they do remake Zero and CV. I never tried Zero. I’ve read a lot of people saying they didn’t enjoy it. I’d love a RE1 remake too. I struggle to get back into the old fixed camera games, but my girlfriend is currently playing through RE1 and it looks so good and genuinely scary, like a true RE game. If they did a good remake of those old games, I would be so happy. Hopefully we find out official news in the next few days

@Isca I completely agree. I have no doubt IO have the skill to create a great 007 game. From memory, I had a great time with Kane and Lynch, and the Hitman games are good (although I agree on them quickly becoming dull). I’m sure they will come up with a fresh idea for 007. Will be quite interesting to see how it comes out.

@Kaloudz I’m very interested to find out which one they remake next. I never played many spin offs. I’d like to see how RE1 would be as a remake. Still highly doubt they will remake 5, but if they did, I’d be all over that.
After all the rumours about RE9, I’m really hoping we get some official news. I’m very curious to know what kind of game it’ll be as there were rumours of it being open world

@Raccoonius To be honest, I cant even describe why I love the 360 so much. A lot of it is likely just nostalgia from being young and coming home from school to play online with friends for the first time etc, as well as the UI and Xbox avatars.
I also found the games of that time to be much more enjoyable like Halo, Gears of War and Forza as well as non exclusives of that time.
My brother had a PS3 and I was envious he could play online for free while I had to pay for Xbox live though

Re: Microsoft's New 'Buy One, Get One Free' Sale Features Plenty Of Xbox DLC

-taco

@Kaloudz Yeah it has a different vibe to RE2 and 3 I feel. It was good, but I liked Raccoon City much more.

I do understand what you mean by all the scripted moments in 6. I played through it about 3 times (Xbox 360, PC and Xbox one) and by the third, I was completely sick of it haha. I would still love a remake of a co-op game but I dont know how it would turn out. Doubt it would happen anyway.

I tried 7. I did enjoy it but never got far through it. Didnt like it as much as the third person games so never tried 8 because of that.
