Resident Evil Requiem Is Capcom's Next Horror Epic, Launches On Xbox In February 2026

Having us play as Alyssa Ashcroft's (RE Outbreak) daughter and taking us back to Raccoon City post-explosion, is about as great an anniversary gift an RE fan can get. Color me intrigued and color me excited. Plus the guy that helmed RE7 is present. This should be amazing.

Yep the only big new AAA from the show I want. RE9 Feb 2026.

No disrespect even though I enjoyed not an Avowed and I don’t me gears reloaded remake.

A new big AAA mega game the best a game be like RE9 or TOTK or Halo in the old days or last of us 2. Something massive AAA looking so perfect it purrs. A 92 plus on meta, you get the idea.

Really looking forward to RE9. I do like that they keep changing the formula and trying different things, so I am eager to see what they come up with...

I kinda wish Capcom would throw us a bone and re-release Outbreak and Outbreak File 2 so that we can play a version that doesn't run like ****.

I'm not sold honestly. Need to see more, but I wasn't a fan of the last few.

As is with most previews of brand new entries to RE we still don't know who is the main character. Still could be Jill or Leon or Chris or Rose.

We will just have to wait until we see more probably at The Game Awards.

Looks pretty good, but I'll need to see more. Im sort of a whimp when it comes to RE and need to know if it's unlimited saves, and easy mode. Im still worried to try RE7 since i heard it's pretty relentless. I did love the rest of the game though.

I’m intrigued. The beginning of the trailer was losing me. My mind was wandering but now I’m super excited. Going back to Raccoon City! Can’t wait!

@-taco Looks pretty good doesn't it. Question is, is it third or first person? Not that it matters to me as I have enjoyed both, but very curious if 9 follows 7 and 8 (though, didn't 8 have both? I can't remember).

@OldGamer999 Yeah I think we will see some of that at Xbox Showcase tomorrow. Me personally I'm keen to see State of Decay 3 - but given how amazing MS have been at their showcases and Dev Directs lately, I expect a few pretty big things. Especially with Spencer saying what he said.

@Kaloudz I’m also not entirely worried whether it’s first or third person, it definitely won’t discourage me from buying this, but I am personally hoping it’s third person. I never played 8, but I THINK one of the DLC was third person? Don’t quote me.

@-taco Yeah I think you're right. I think I remember third person for RE7 too, but I think that might have been a mod for the PC that was reported on. RE8 is worth a play - it's not the best in the series - nor is it better than RE7, but it's still pretty cool. That said, it's one of the few that I wont play a second time lol.

@OldGamer999 I know right? Talk about the ultimate troll moment lol. I genuinely thought, in that moment, that we weren't getting a reveal until closer the end of the year.

I am in the minority on this but I don't like the first person Resident Evil games and did not like the graphics on this one either.
I am looking forward to the 3rd person remakes / new games though.

Let's go! Freaking love Capcom and Resident Evil makes me happy (and scared)
