For a while, it felt like everyone on Twitch and YouTube was playing the game, but is it actually any good? Let's have a look at what the fine citizens of Steam had to say, who slapped an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on the game.
Bear in mind it just launched into version 1.0, and these reviews are what folk thought of the game in Early Access:
Maxzilla2445 on Steam: "Far more fun than it should be, HUGE bonus points for including a sandbox mode where you can just go wild and build your dream park - 14/10"
✧Natori✧ on Steam: "Waterpark Simulator is a lot more fun than I expected. Building and managing a waterpark is both relaxing and rewarding, and it's satisfying to watch guests enjoy everything you've created.
The progression keeps you motivated with new attractions, upgrades, and ways to improve your park. I enjoyed balancing the business side while also getting creative with the layout. It's easy to spend "just a few minutes" playing, only to realize an hour has flown by.
The game has a fun atmosphere, simple controls, and enough variety to keep each session interesting. If you enjoy management, tycoon, or simulation games, Waterpark Simulator is definitely worth checking out.
Whether you're optimizing your park for profits or just trying to build the coolest waterpark possible, this game delivers a fun and enjoyable experience. I can't wait to see how it continues to grow with future updates!"
milamaus on Steam: "A goofy memey simulator game on the surface but at the same time offering a great time management experience and great tools to build a nice looking waterpark. Def already great in early access but upcoming 1.0 features like the themes, new map type, and custom slides make it very promising"
Luskalilly on Steam: "This is a very satisfying and one of the good simulators out there. The flop physics are so funny, and making water park during a heat wave nothing better. Its not hard to get things either or make money, Very well balanced."
Cutekittycat on Steam: "I love this game so much, the developers really care about feedback they get and it shows in the game how passionate they are about it!"
There you have it, lots of happy campers all sharing lovely things about the game. I couldn't find any critic reviews, but hopefully the community had helped paint a decent image of what to expect.
It's a shame it's not on Xbox Game Pass, but the good news is Waterpark Simulator is pretty darned cheap. If you plan on diving in on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, admission is currently 20% off and will only set you back £7.99 / $10.39.
We'll leave you with a few more details and some properly moist screenshots from the game down below.
Waterpark Simulator is a first-person management simulator. Build your dream waterpark, ride your own custom slides, and cause chaos with your friends. This is a physics-based sandbox sim that does not take itself too seriously and has gotten a major upgrade from Early Access!
