Today, we've already mentioned how Cyberpunk 2077 has suddenly become part of the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, and it's also getting a big update across Xbox Series X and S (and other platforms) this Wednesday.

The update will be update 2.5, which is also known as the "Edgerunners 2 Update". It includes all sorts of improvements from an Xbox perspective, including cross-platform mod support, the ability to dual-wield pistols and revolvers, new Edgerunners 2 and Night City tour side quests, a new radio station, an FOV slider for consoles, loads of new bits of customisation, various performance optimisations and more!

Told you it was a stacked update - and it's officially confirmed to release on October 22nd:

"Thought you were done with Night City? Well, Night City's not quite done with you... the update hits the streets on PC, Mac (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 22nd, with players on Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac (Mac App Store version) receiving it in the days to follow."

At this point, it's now been almost six years since Cyberpunk 2077 made its debut back in December of 2020, and it's undoubtedly seen as one of the great redemption stories these days (like No Man's Sky and Star Wars Battlefront 2).

They didn't have to keep pumping out content like this so late in the game's lifecycle, but we're certainly glad they're still supporting it, and we reckon this Wednesday's update will encourage a lot of people to jump back into Night City!
