For what feels like a very long time, we've been hearing rumours that Toys for Bob might be developing a new Spyro game for Xbox, and that's now officially the case - it's called Spyro: A Realm Beyond!
This was unveiled during today's Xbox Games Showcase 2026, and it's a brand-new adventure from the studio behind the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot 4, various Skylanders games, and lots of other family-friendly titles.
We still don't know a whole lot about this one right now, but in an interview with Xbox Wire, it's teased that Spyro: A Realm Beyond is focused on "the freedom of true dragon flight". Here's an excerpt:
"For now, I can tell you that our biggest ambition in Spyro: A Realm Beyond is to give the player the freedom and fantasy of dragon flight – to be able to take the skies at a moment’s notice and make interesting and active decisions to flow through the spaces as you charge on the ground and now soar through the air. This is such a significant addition to the game, and we’ve built a whole world around that promise."
Spyro: A Realm Beyond will be available on multiple platforms when it releases in Spring 2027 including Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and it'll also be available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one.
We'll obviously be keeping an eye out for more details in the coming months, so stay tuned for that!
