Today marks the official early access release for WWE 2K26 on Xbox Series X and Series S (along with other platforms) if you happen to have bought one of the more expensive versions, with the standard version releasing next Friday.
We've already talked about all the new features in the game, like the CM Punk 2K Showcase and the new match types such as Inferno and Dumpster, but the thing that seems to be getting most attention with players so far are the improved ragdoll physics in certain situations.
For pretty much the past decade, collisions from height (such as jumping off tall structures or throwing people off the Hell in a Cell) have felt very predetermined, whereas back in the SmackDown! PS2 era, wrestlers would bounce off the floor in a very unrealistic but entertaining ragdoll-like fashion.
2K now seems to have found a happy medium - the collisions don't look fully realistic, but they're also not predetermined as much anymore, leading to some really cool moments that are already going viral.
Note: Be warned of some profanity and shouting in the final clip here!
It should be noted that you won't see these kinds of collisions in every situation, but it's just nice that they exist at all — especially in that one backstage area, which seems to be the perfect location to pull off some highlight reel moments.
As for the rest of the game, WWE 2K26 is currently sitting on a Metacritic rating of 80, with many critics highlighting all the subtle but meaningful improvements. If you fancy playing it right now, the King of Kings Edition is your cheapest option (£89.99 / $99.99), or you can wait until March 13th for the Standard Edition launch (£69.99 / $69.99).
